Edit: Looking at this worksheet, https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Id1duRRByZHJmhEzl9N25GqwzcnUyLCR4e4N9W6zGLg/edit#gid=0 it seems that there is usually about 1 month or slightly less between the Recv'd by USCIS date and the Biometrics Appt date. Still curious how long it takes to get a new appointment if we postpone (for an excuse such as illness)

@dunebuggy Enjoying the rain after the 90 degree days? I think at this point we are  just going to send in our I-751 right before we leave, so there is effectively no chance to miss the biometric appointment. The little extra scutiny we might get for a close to expire GC is better the headache we would get from a missed bio. I do think you are correct with the slight less then a month from the Rev'd date. From others stories of missed bios I see they sent the bio letter to the site listed on the paper you get. They would sometimes get an appointment the next week!

Definitely better to file later than to miss the biometrics.  Missing that ranges from difficult to deal with to denial.  You won't have any trouble entering close to expiration.  When we traveled close to expiration, the CBP agent just reminded us to take care of it.  

Thanks, I do think we will go with filing right before we leave. It's just not worth it to try and get the letter while and not miss the bio.

It's so based on how backed up the service center is when your paperwork gets sent in.  CSC scheduled our biometrics 5 months after we sent it in, but they only gave us 7 business days notice!  Vermont seems to be very fast with scheduling.  CSC is now faster than it was.  It's just very hard to say.  But as long as you're not traveling 2-3 weeks after filing you should be fine.

Thanks , I was actually basing my sending time-frame on your timeline! Yours seems to be one of the quickest turn arounds I saw with the bio being sent just a couple days after the NOA.

my service center is MSC. there are some Feb filers waiting for interview scheduled already, and since we all in Portland, wish you luck!! hope you guys get a good service center as well!!

Got a text saying my case was received on Tuesday (the 14th). I’m out on vacation and won’t return until Monday night, Should I be worried about receiving any important mail between the 14th and the 20th? I have a family member checking my mail tonight just in case. I’m mainly concerned about the biometrics appointment, but I’m thinking they might not schedule it that fast so I should be ok? I hope?

We filed for ROC today, May 11th, our window opened May 1st. 

 

We used USPS priority and the lady said it will get there on Monday. 

 

We never received a reminder to file, is that normal?  ( I was initially issued a 10 years GC and submitted i-90 to replace it) also when I went to USCIS infopass to get a stamp the officer said my status still shows as non conditional) Hope their system is up to date by now, but please let us know if it is normal not receiving a reminder.

I don't think it matters.  Seems like weak evidence to me.  However, I did send 3 notarized affidavits.  Once from my mom and 2 from friends, just to be on the safe side.

Wow I am at MSC too! So they are processing I751 in couple of months? Simply unbelievable and exciting.
