Just throwing in my 2 cents about calling for biometrics. While it did make me feel a little better calling USCIS and talking about my biometrics they told me wait 30 days after receiving NOA. When i called them on 6/28 and asked if there was a biometrics appointment scheduled for me they told me that they as of that time could not see anything scheduled for myself. The following day (6/29) i received my biometrics in the mail and the notice date was created on 6/21. So even having the notice created 1 week after i called, USCIS customer service could not "see" a biometrics appointment scheduled for me. So my guess is that even when a bio appointment is scheduled for yourself, customer service reps can't see in their systems. Whether or not people say its a waste of time calling and just wait for it to show up, i believe you should use every service provided to you (Calling, service request) to your advantage. Its there for a reason. We all go through the same initial process, but every case is different and processing time will be different for everyone.

I'm just at a loss as to what VJ has become.  When we filed for my K1 visa three yrs ago this forum was such a community.  In our monthly filers thread we tried to understand each other, looked forward to updates so we could figure out our own next move, and cheered every breakthrough someone made.  By the time I had my visa in hand I had gained a family in those people who were a part of that thread.  I remember them well, and we even kept in touch for some months after.  Everyone got split up because everyone's weddings were scattered across different times and then everyone filed for AOS at different times but, I miss the community we shared here on VJ.

Nobody ever came in the forum demanding that people "calm down", nobody came in here trying to tell anyone else how to feel about their own case, the outcome of which can change the future for themselves or their families.

I really miss how we used to be.  Honestly this makes me very sad.  But if I have updates I will continue to share because I know that updates like mine help the people who lurk for years and never say anything but they need the help and they need the breakthrough that can help their case move along.  Posting this with love always.

This is a community where we share information with each other to help each other out. It's not our fault that you don't want to take in that information.

@kandikandi I understand how you feel. I've been on other immigration forums for other purposes, and you will always get a few who are like that. That's just how some people are. We are all here to share information and root one another for their cases, but at the end of the day you have to do what's best for your own case. People will share how they feel and how you should feel. When i reach a certain checkpoint in my process and that i should of received something by now i do everything i can to figure out why i haven't received something because at the end of the day i can say i did everything i could, instead of regretting days later if i should of done something.

Hi all,

I filed my case 5/23 and received my NOA 5/23.

I still haven't gotten my biometrics appt yet- it seems like that's the case for most of us.

my service center is at WAC. Anyone else at WAC experiencing the same?

I haven't been able to find a WAC google sheet tracker - do you know of one or should we create one for WAC?

Thanks all!

WAC receipt number here and no biometrics yet - What i've learnt from having to call USCIS many times in the past for questions along those lines is, there's usually no point. You'll typically get a response of "sorry, i don't know anything but i see the same thing you do; nothing yet, it just takes how long it takes".
It seems like a lot of people are just getting biometrics letters much later, if at all, just from my browsing around of timelines.

In saying that though, i do still hope we hear something back soon! (because sitting around and waiting sucks)

I just thought I'd pop back in here to update:  I still have not received my biometrics appt letter after receiving my NOA1 since the end of May (it was dated 5/22).

I called USCIS yesterday after a long 50 min wait - the lady who answered looked into it and said that we should be getting our Biometrics Letter within 30 days after the NOA1.  In my case specifically, she was able to check and see that apparently my biometrics appointment has not even been scheduled yet, for some reason.

I did submit a case inquiry online a week ago and she saw that, so she said its been registered on the system and I should be getting an email by the first week of August about next steps.  She said they would not be sending my biometrics info over the email but it should be a correspondence that says a biometric letter has been or will be sent.

Again, not much new information there but it was comforting speaking to someone about it.  She was actually able to tell me that its not that anything was lost in the mail - its just that for some reason it has not been scheduled - and I suspect that for many of us at SRC that may be the case.  If anything else changes I will let all know.

Mixed reviews in this thread but some points do make sense. We filed May 13th, NOA1 May 21th and nothing since then, I submitted an inquiry and called on 07/14, lady said she can see the inquiry and that I am in some sort of system awaiting schedule for biometrics in local office. She also said I might have been delayed to cross check my status as I was on an IR1 by mistake and changed it (i90) to CR1. Been out all day today and just remembered to check my mail, received a letter saying they will use my old fingerprints.  (Did biometrics back in February 2018)

We filed through Texas center as well....

Looks like Texas center is moving a little slower than others.

Hey...yes there was a small update but I was a little hesitant to share - USCIS responded to my case inquiry explaining that there seems to be a backlog at the application support center I was assigned to.  They said they have requested that a biometrics appointment be scheduled for me and once a date and time becomes available they will confirm it and send me a letter.  For many of us waiting I suspect that a biometrics appointment has not been scheduled yet simply because of the backlog at the centers right now.

I think its worth sending a case enquiry because they seem to be willing to dig a little deeper if you ask, versus the people who prefer to wait and never send an enquiry.  That's just the vibe I got both from the agent I spoke to on the phone and the case enquiry response.

Texas just may have the biggest backlog of all the service centers at this time.....but we will keep waiting and hoping.  Good luck to you!

May I ask how did you send the inquiry to USCIS? Is that through my.uscis.gov?
