They also seem to think that their cases are transferred between TSC and whichever service center that shows on the NOA1. They don't understand that their cases are only at a lockbox facility and are being routed (not transferred) to the service center they were assigned to.

So, I sent my package to Phoenix, got a MSC, and MSC is dealing with my case now? Or will my local office be dealing with it? MN-Saint Paul? (Yes the slowest ever!) 

If so, what I do not understand is that you mentioned biometrics are only requested when the grab you case to work on it. is that MSC or local office? Many MCS here got biometrics before their case going to local office. Wondering about the inconsistency between idle cases and cases that already did bio that filed after those idle.

I never said MSC cases only get biometrics when someone picks up their case. Please quote the post where I supposedly said that.

 

I said MSC cases tend to (there's a difference between "tend to" and "always", btw) get biometrics sooner than others because NBC prepares their cases for interviews. So NBC do their pre-screening, including biometrics, early on but after that the case will just sit there and wait until the field office is ready to take it on.

 

Other service centers can send out biometrics appointments whenever, it can take a few days or weeks, or even over a year. That's why, if you check out the i-751 threads (especially those from many months back), you often see people post "I haven't got my biometrics appointment yet and I'm freaking out!!!11one". Because there's no rush with the biometrics, the cases are going to sit there for months and months, even years, before anybody even looks at them. And biometrics has a "use before"-date too, so the longer you wait the better, then you don't have to do them twice for one single case.

 

With NBC On the other hand, they tend to send out biometrics much earlier simply because they need them to finish the pre-screening (background checks for which they need the biometrics among other things), and every field office has different processing times. So NBC has the cases ready to leave for the different field offices very early on. Some field offices are very slow (like yours, you said?) but that doesn't stop NBC from conducting the research they need to do early on, then the case will just sit around in your file there until the field office is ready to take it on.

During the I-751 process, when the tracking says "ready to be scheduled for an interview", are they going to give you an interview appointment or it is just part of the process until they approve the case?

Likely an interview, yes. It's not common to not get an interview if you receive that status.

I resent my package and they received it this time. I got a text message notification, not email. My case is a LIN . They cashed my check and it was cleared on June 13th.  

 

Now I am waiting for the NOA. Usually how long does it take to receive NOA?

I missed 1 page in the form so I printed that page and sent the package as it was back to them after I fixed the mistake. 

 

Hopefully I will receive the NOA soon
