No.  The status changed to "Case is ready to be scheduled for an interview" since May of 2019.  On September 2, 2021, my wife got an ADIT stamp in her passport so she could travel to her home country....where she is right now.

The last update we had was "Case was Transferred and a New Office Has Jurisdiction" noting since March 15, 2021. I guess it's a bit of an update. However, nothing since.

Hi all,

Just wanted to update on my InfoPass appointment to get a new I-551 stamp.

@Nipperswife, as you had promised me, I was never asked for proof of emergency upon arrival or at any point, so that was convenient, and stress-free! 😄

I was in and out in about 30 mins at the Washington DC field office.

In theory I got what I came there for (the stamp). But then I was also hoping to be able to ask questions about my case, and unfortunately that wasn't possible.

I don't know if it's at all possible but I'm pretty sure the person I interacted with was not an immigration officer.

I was asking very simple questions about my case (eg: where is my case currently, which office should I communicate with...), and the person wasn't understanding my requests, although I am fluent in English and barely have an accent anymore.

In short: I need to update my petition to include a divorce waiver and wanted to know where to send it, or if  I could give it to them in person.

Upon rephrasing my question about 10 times, the "officer" proceeded to tell me that I should apply to a T visa (for victims of human trafficking!!!) because he believes that is my situation................

O.M.G the incompetence. 🤡

All in all, very interesting experience that doesn't give me much faith in the system but oh well, all we can do is wait.

Good luck everyone, and thanks @Nipperswife for the advice !

Patience is key 😝

How did it go? Did you get N-400 interview along with your I-751 as well?

I think it went good.  The IO only asked us a few basic simple questions. IDs, names, DOBs, address, how and when we met.  Asked us to verify our signatures of the form.

He said “looks good and favorable”. He asked if we had any additional documents were wanted to add to our file.  I gave  him our tax returns from the last 2 years, some documents from wife’s job showing me as beneficiary to her 401k and life insurance policy.

He said it takes about 2 weeks to be notified of his decision.  And that he would be in touch if he needed any further evidence.

My wife wanted to wait till the 751 was approved before submitting her N400

fingers crossed and praying🤞🏻🙏🏻

Hi everyone!

I'm finally able to update you with good news, my case was approved after a long and stressful 975 days!

My situation wasn't very common, as I filed jointly (2019) but switched to a divorce waiver during the process (2021), and I chose not to hire a lawyer.

My interview was on 01/13/22 and my case status updated the same day, saying that my case was approved and my card was being produced. I was in and out in about an hour at the Washington, D.C. office.

The interviewer was very kind, but went straight to the emotionally hard questions about how and why my marriage ended (why did you separate, when did you separate, did you know it was the end then, what were your issues, how did you try to fix them, where did you live, who did you live with, what is your relationship with your ex husband, what about with his family, how did you file the form etc...) and then went over our 10-year relationship just like for the K1 process.

Just wanted to give hope to anyone who is going through this immigration process as well as relationship difficulties  and are deciding to go through this on their own: YOU CAN DO IT.

That is normal. The i-751 is based on you still being married to your wife so it makes sense to be a joint interview just like the green card interview is. Best of luck, it should be quick.
