Hey you all!! one more question-

I have used used highlighter to highlight our names and address and other things to make it easy to view relevant info on supporting documents. I just read on USCIS website that their system does not read highlighted part and so don't use highlighter.

https://www.uscis.gov/forms-filing-tips

Have any of you used highlighter? or how did you highlight if you did?  Can't believe I need to reprint all my documents!!! phew..

Yeah never use highlighter, depending on how the papers are being scanned they might not be able to read the highlighted text even.

I just circled anything important with a regular ink pen. No highlighting.

Ah crud. I highlighted a few things on bank statements (to show payments made from joint accounts).
Luckily there isn't too much but I had seen someone highlight pertinent info on an example packet post, so thought it was a good idea to do. Again... glad I only highlighted a few lines.
Hopefully it's not an issue 😕

Don't worry about the highlighting, you're probably fine. I have done things in previous applications that I afterwards read USCIS doesn't like or want, but was fine in the end anyway. Most of us do it at least once. 😄

I’ve another question. Why are people assigned different letters at the start of their case number? I remember with AOS everyone was MSC. Now it appears people receive different letters? Is this significant or is dependent on the location you are based?

The no highlighting applies only to the forms. the form (I751) should be clear. Other docs can be highlighted.

I called USPS to double check and they said my package was sent to the correct lock box in Dallas. Called USCIS and there was nothing about my case in the system yet, they told me to wait 60 days if there is no receipt or nothing I must call to see if I can get an Infopass.

I tried my best to file as early as I could within the 90 days period... :( I will keep waiting and see if there is any news about my package T_T

I tried scanning a highlighted sheet and it clearly scanned the highlighted lines without the highlighter mark!! I think you all are good. I just spent whole evening reprinting my forms...UGH

So not one service center ends up with all applications, it would take even longer to get the ROC processed then.

For AOS every case first ended up with NBC, but for many cases that stage was only the "pre-processing" stage. Later those cases were divided between local field offices for further processing/interviews.

With ROC many get approved without an interview so depending on how busy your service center is, they may do the full processing of your case and approve/deny it. That would take forever if all ROC cases ended up at the same service center. Some cases do get transferred for workload reasons or interviews.

Your case can end up at any of the service centers processing ROCs. Sometimes it has to do with where you live (I'm in CA and my case was routed to the CA service center), but not always. Right now it seems like most people who came to the US in a CR-1 visa have their ROC sent to NBC for instance, no matter where in the country they live. Maybe that means most of those cases will get an interview, who knows.
