Hey guys! 🤗

Just wanted to update you on my info pass , as promised.

I had a meeting at the Washington field office in Virginia at 08:20am, got there at 08:00am and it was PACKED. Had to wait outside for social distancing.

Thought it would take forever but the process was actually pretty smooth. Was in and out in an hour.

The process is pretty streamlined. You first go through security, then to front desk so they can direct you where you need to go, then you wait in an area for your name to be called (chairs were 6ft apart). Then hopefully not long after that, you get to talk to an immigration officer about your case.

In my case, I was only there for an I-551 stamp as my extension letter expires on 12.19 and I will have to travel soon. I was never asked if this was an emergency, or to show proof of travel plans, or anything (good thing, because it is your right to get that stamp if your extension expires within the next 30 days). I was asked to give them my passport, a gvt issued photo ID, and I was asked which type of case I was waiting on adjudication for. The person I talked to was very nice and calm and helpful.

She confirmed that my case is currently at NBC (after I had several customer service agents tell me 3 different locations for my case over the phone and chat), and that it is indeed ready to be scheduled for an interview.

She gave me the stamp and told me that it is itself enough to travel with (no need to show your old Greencard or extension letter or any other immigration paperwork when trying to come back to the US from abroad) and valid for one year.

Hope that's reassuring for those of you still waiting to secure an appointment. I had made mine through their online chat.

Hope you're all having a good week. ❄️

Thank you for sharing your experience :)

I too am traveling in January. My letter expires Jan 21, but I'm trying to get an InfoPass appointment now... I talked to one agent, but it's been 7 days since my first call. It's been difficult to get connected, my call always gets dropped. But I finally got through and set up another request for InfoPass. Oh boy... Let's hope they seriously call me back and get an appointment set up soon.

So... This may be a confusing/complicated question. My husband and I found out we are expecting, and are due in early August next year. I realised that I'm going to need valid ID for the childbirth - preparing for the worst and assuming my i-751 or N-400 isn't approved before then, what documents can I get ahold of to use?
My Australian passport is expired and my 18 month extension expires in January. I have a drivers permit that expires 04/09/2021 and I can supposedly get that renewed, but with my extension expiring in January, I don't have anything I can really show for the "if limited term, show proof that your authorized stay is still in effect or has been extended;" portion of the proof that's required for it to be renewed.

Someone earlier mentioned I could get an i94 and have that stamped. Is that actually a valid option? I was under the assumption i94's were for travellers or people who had just entered the country and were in limbo.
Am I worrying for no reason and there's a good chance things will be approved before July/August? (Obviously in an ideal situation, I would have some form of valid ID handy well before the due date)

During one day and 2 calls I can get 2 different answers!one will tell me it’s at SRC and second one after 15 mins of calling - it’s at the local field office...

How it’s possible...also contacted congressman...useless....and ombudsman will do anything just after case will pass published processing times which is 19,5 months for SRC now...but i have a bad feeling that it will be 22-26 soon...

If you make an appointment to go to an USCIS field office to get an i551 stamp with some passport style photos they will produce an i94 with a i551 stamp on it for you to have as proof of your LPR status.

Due to COVID restrictions bring proof of the need for the stamp (expiring driver license) along with your condition green card and extension letter.

USCIS will only provide a stamp within a couple of weeks of the extension letter expiration date 18 months after the CGC expired or later.

Thank you. No interview with USCIS as the initial application was done through the London Embassy. No RFEs were requested after we filed the I-751

. I-751 application included 150+ pages of evidence.

I received an e-mail this morning from USCIS saying that there was action on my account and to log in to see the message. I logged in but unfortunately nothing changed. I wonder whats up if anything?

try calling them?  and say schedule an infopass so you can speak to a human being.. and explain the samething. Maybe they can have a tertiary level contact you... orrrrrrrrr maybe try doing a service request.. or both.

Got my i-551 stamp today. FYI it is a literal stamp on your passport, not like a printed visa. From entering the building to getting my passport stamped to getting out, took 40 minutes total. They are also following COVID precautions & protocols. At least that was relatively swift and efficient.

(Side note: A bit disappointed though they couldn't just mail those with overdue applications a temporary card/letter in the mail so we wouldn't have to waste our time traveling to said office...)

Anyway, the 2 people I spoke to kept hinting that it's likely that my i-751 and N-400 interview will be done at the same time... looks like that is the trend nowadays FYI...
