Thanks for the info.  We will try to be very careful when preparing our documents for the interview.  It is too late to think about self filing.  Crapidvisa took the stress out of it for me because otherwise I would have hyperanalyzed every question.  Ours is a simple, uncomplicated case.  We are expecting the rubber stamp treatment, but all the waiting is very bothersome.  Why can't they offer an expensive non-medical expedited option for those who can afford it, if they don't have the money/manpower to do the job in a reasonable amount of time?   If you add up the time we've spent waiting, separated, only able to text/video chat, it is more than 5% of a human lifetime, and possibly more than 5% of our remaining lives together.  This makes every case a humanitarian crisis.

Because you can't buy your way into the country? But this is all very upsetting knowing we have an open door policy at the Southern border :(

What's your problem with medicals?

Most countries require a medical if you want to immigrate...  and some require medicals even if you are only staying 12 months on a work visa.

You misunderstand me, sir.  I have no problem with medicals.  I said "non-medical expedite" because I was saying that we should be able to expedite without having a life-or-death medical reason to expedite.

OK, so we got our IL today, yay.  Just under 4 months since DQ.  I have a question.  My wife got 2 doses of the Sputnik vaccine.  It is not going to be approved by the WHO, even though there is plenty of evidence that it works better than a lot of the other ones that are WHO approved.   HAS ANYONE ELSE HERE GOTTEN THE SPUTNIK BEFORE IMMIGRATING AND WHAT HAPPENED.  At this point, vaccines are useless anyway, ever since Omicron started circulating.  I don't think my wife should have to get another shot, but if we have to, maybe J&J will be available at her medical appt in Manila.

So, people with money should be pushed to the front of the line........at the expense of the many, many, many people who have been waiting patiently for months and months?

They do but not for Family visas

If you really want to know what I think, I think that as long as this is your 1st or 2nd marriage to a foreigner that you want to bring in, and you have a marriage certificate, and he/she has a passport, then he/she should be able to enter with you at any airport, without a visa at all, subject to interview and medical at time of entry.  It used to be like that in our Free Country.  But yeah, if someone is willing to pay more in order to pay the overtime for the federal employees who process visas, then sure, why not?

You most certainly can buy your way.  It is called an EB-5 investor visa and you get a green card immediately.

It isn't an open door.  The toll must be paid.  I've heard on the news recently that the cartels are charging 10000-12000 USD per head.

Apologies @Steve2022 for misreading what you meant...

I don't think they would expand the types of expedite open to Family-Based petitions because everyone and their cousin would send in request.

All I wish for is the resumption of DCF to couples (that aren't military) living overseas together no exceptional reason required. But, I know that will most likely not occur.

Congrats on your IL!
