Guns kill. Also, that many guns at the immigration station is uneccessary. Everyone there obviously has legal reason for being there already or they wouldn't have been allowed on the plane. I feel it is an unncessary show of force from the US government and also puts the immigration workers in an inappropriate mindset.

If guns kill then pencils must misspell words…

I am sorry to hear about your bad experience. There is no good explanation for poor behavior on anyone's part. I really do not understand the part about the photograph. When in a public place, people have no right to complain about someone else taking a photograph that they may be in the background of.

haha.... love it

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

I think there are actually laws about that. At least in Europe - if someone complains that they're in a picture you took I think you're supposed to delete it or it can be grounds for them to sue.

Guns kill.

My gun hasn't killed anybody :( It's hardly even killed targets, but mainly due to a lack of skill on its owner's part. Poor gun.

And the airport/immigration experience you had is all too common after 9/11 and the Homeland Security goons have taken over. Your experience is not unique, but what is unique is your attitude about it. So passive! Stand up for yourself! Woman doesn't like you taking pictures because her son might be in them? Ignore her. Pretend you don't speak English. Or you can even tell her to not take her son out in public if she doesn't like him being seen.

Personally, if I am ever involved in a situation with anyone that chooses to belittle my foreign wife, they're going to get a truly unexpected response from me. It doesn't matter to me whether it's a guy or girl on the giving end of their racial taunt. I have a very sharp tongue and have no problem giving it back to them. chair.gif

I'm sorry to hear about your experience, but me thinks you might have embellished a bit here and there. If you went through the K1 process you must have known about parole.

As for luggage...since when is it destroyed if you don't pick it up at the carousel right away? As far as I know, any luggage remaining on the carousel is picked up and placed in storage until the owner contacts the airport or the airport is able to track down the owner. I would have had a lot of "destroyed" luggage with all the traveling I've done in the past.

In a public place, with no reasonable expectation of privacy, you are free to take any picture you want; even if it includes children.

Here is an excerpt from and a link to an easy to understand explanation regarding taking photographs in the US. Read the details to better understand the difference between taking and publishing pictures.

Legal Rights of Photographers

Except in special circumstances (e.g., certain government facilities), there are no laws prohibiting the taking of photographs on public or private property. If you can be there, you can take pictures there: streets, malls, parking lots, office buildings. You do not need permission to do so, even on private property.

You raise good points....after all, what if you missed your connecting flight?
