Oh right! Almost forgot about that one. It might be helpful for some, who knows! I don't know how bad the medical backlog is in Moscow.

Good point. I imagine the medical backlogs are indeed pretty backed up now given the refugee situation.

Yeah, I think if you have your case number and are in Belarus, it can be helpful to try and get it done there. But at the same time, the next K1 appointment in Warsaw is late, late September, and if medical is taking two months minimum (from what users are reporting), there's not much urgency to get a quicker appointment. Everything's taking a long time, there isn't one step in particular that's holding people up anymore.

Hello! I have been approved for expedited processing for my k1 fiance visa for my Ukrainian fiance on March 8th(still waiting for decision) and am looking towards the NVC process and later. I have been reading the the designated embassy abroad is Frankfurt, but the wait times just for the medical exam have ballooned to over 2 months.  I am desperately looking for an alternative embassy in the Schengen Zone which i could forward our application to with a smaller wait time. I am currently in Poland with her and have a limited time i can stay without a visa. Thank you!

I submitted my DS-260, AOS, and supporting documents last week to the NVC. When I heard about the medical backlog I just made a medical appointment in just over 90 days, assuming that the review process would take the published time and the interview would get scheduled shortly after that. I don't have any estimate for the time between NVC approval and getting an interview date in Frankfurt, but I can always move the appointments back every month. I have heard two weeks to two months to a year?

As for your time constraints in Poland, we all have similar issues.

In theory you could do the medical at any approved clinic, but whether or not Warsaw accepts that in practice is unknown. Warsaw current accepts medicals done in Moscow or Poland. Probably best to reach out to them directly and see what they say.

So I received the reply, and apparently this applies only to Ukrainian cases:

Dear Ms. RussiaMidwest,

If your case was not initially planned to be processed in Kyiv, Ukraine and you have no connection to Ukraine, please disregard previous message.  You should follow the instructions you have received for processing regular Frankfurt cases. The exceptional processing of medical examination is only for Ukrainian cases.

Sincerely,

...

So at least we know now :)

Update: NVC ignored our request and sent the petition package to Frankfurt.

If you approach the NVC stage and want to interview at a different Embassy, make sure to follow up with them multiple times!

Did NVC give you an interview date at Frankfurt already?

 When did you receive NOA2?

When did NVC receive your K1 application?

My NOA2 is March 17. I don’t know when NVC received my case - when our legal rep reached out to check on it and confirm the transfer request, we found out it was already in transit to Frankfurt. It will take several weeks to receive and process.

I don’t have an interview date yet - from what I know, Frankfurt is a self-scheduling embassy so you can pick a date via USTraveldocs. Besides Frankfurt has this option for ukrainians:

I will try to have the medical in Paris since I’ve been in contact with them and they were willing to find a free spot when needed.
