Happy that the bakery found justice but what bothers me is reading that Oberlin has almost one billion in endowment money, charges 60K + annual tuition, which students obviously need loans for, and Brandon is trying to have taxpayers pay back the loans.

I went to for Directional  for 2 degrees in 15 semesters, received a full merit-based out-of-state tuition  waiver in  all but 3 semesters, and graduated with zero debt.  In a 36 year career interviewing 100s of people for jobs,  I never saw an Oberlin resume.  And if I was not retired I’d resolve to never hire anyone from Oberlin.

unlikely that gender studies or another similarly useless degree would be appear in your field.

Brings to mind the poor bakers who refused to make a "gay cake".  Wish those poor folks could reap such a bountiful win, but awesome for the Gibsons.

 

Given the lack of "justice" surrounding the Bidens and the Trumps, this is certainly a win for our Democratic Republic.

Completely agree.  Fundamentally, I am not a huge fan of lawsuits, but they certainly are a tool that needs to be used especially when something like this happens.  Go Woke, Go Broke.

Risky business: Appearance of ‘risk’ manager sends Oberlin students into frenzy over the danger of ‘risk aversion’

 

Over its almost 200 years of existence, Oberlin College has faced a civil war, an economic depression and pandemics. But until this year, it had never faced the likes of Kalinda Watson. Student editors on The Oberlin Review have risen up against the addition of Watson to the college ranks as an existential threat.

 

No, Watson is not a conservative or a Republican — groups that haven’t been welcome on campus for many years. Oberlin is ranked in the top three most liberal colleges in the country, and finding a conservative professor is about as likely as finding a licensed, practicing wizard.

 

No, Watson is far, far worse. She is a risk management expert.

 

The panic over the arrival of a risk management expert in this small college is that she may be working … wait for it … to lower the risk of lawsuits at the college. Oberlin, it appears, attracts lawsuits as much as liberals.

 

The students fear that she will create “risk aversion” that could chill future protests.
