Hello, I have just submitted my husband's petition in Montreal. (I will update my timeline as soon as I get a chance).

I just realized I only had my marriage "declaration". The print isn't great and so I decided to order a new one from the Civil director. To my surprise I never had an official "certificate" nor "act". These two have to be ordered. I just submitted the order. The "declaration" has all the information needed to show a marriage took place with birthdates, church address, pastor's celebrant number, parent's names and signatures of both witnesses. Should I upload the two aforementioned docs when I receive them? or not rock the boat? Again, I have already submitted the I-130. thanks!

I would refer you to Visa Reciprocity and Civil Documents by Country for Canada

and advise you to not waste time to upload the expected document as soon as you receive it.   You are probably looking at over 200 days before your I-130 is accepted.

Ohhhhh damn me. The link you sent just confirmed it. Ok, I ordered the correct document. So when I receive it I upload into "Unsolicited evidence"? I don't see any other place where I can upload additional, or in my case, the correct document.

Thank you kindly. Really appreciated.

You know what to do now, but if you read the instructions, you would know you needed a certified copy of Marriage Certificate.  They are not just looking for a document that contains the same information you entered on the I-130.  They are looking for a document to serve as "evidence".  Same goes for birth certificates etc.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...

Thanks! But when I do get the correct document by mail, do you think I should upload in "additional documents"?
