My fiance and I were set back due to him being inadmissible ( he has class A findings on medical exam). We were given a one year wait time, then he may take the medical Exam again.

Many people have said due to this hiccup the embassy like to jerk you around alot and  the process becomes difficult..

I was 1 , wondering if anyone has experienced this process?

2. was wondering if anyone has switched from a K1 Fiance visa request to a CR1 spousal visa . I know this will not by pass our year of waiting ( which started in October) but I was thinking it could possibly make the process smoother and more direct? Any thoughts or suggestions?

I am currious what the average time is (specically for the Dominican Republic) that it takes for a U.S citizen to bring home their foreign spouse?

We have not filled any petitions or requests at this time.

If we go  from the very start , to when he arrives... what would be a goo estimate for time?

Also a good estimate for cost?

18 months hopefully you will not have any drug issues to extend that significantly

In this situation, I would not start over with the CR1. The drug history will still be there and luck will be that he will have to do the 1 yr from that new medical as a new visa will need a new medical. It won't be a follow up medical from the first medical with the K1.

My reasoning, is that ppl have had the one 1 ban so to speak even though they haven't touched drugs in 10 even 20 yrs but the ban starts from the failed medical. So he would be starting from scratch again and may still get that 1 yr ban.

At least with he K1 you're at the interview stage when he passes that new medical. Not starting all over with the fees.

Adding he's already 6 months into his 1 yr too.
