Congratulations! Yes, USCIS uses weird English, but basically it is saying they have registered your wife as a new permanent Resident and is notifying her of that fact. They will be mailing her the 'Welcome to America' and her green card in the very near future. The rest of the instructions are usually not relevant - the Green Card comes on its own and you don't need to do anything more until it is time to adjust status.

If we have been approved that would be record time.

The letter was so weird sounding that I couldn't get it.

Thanks for the quick reply. Just wondering is that what your letter looked like? Does that mean we get the real green card in the mail (aka the one that is the size of a credit card)?

Hi. I'm not trying to be argumentative, but I don't see anything obscure in the words or construction of this notice. It seems to me to be a straightforward form letter whose intent is to notify you that your prior application for permanent residence status has been registered (read: "approved") and that the permanent resident card ( read: "Green Card") will be forthcoming.

btw, CONGRATULATIONS on your GOOD NEWS!!!!

My GC was approved in less than 4 months as well (but I had an interview). Nothing unusual - some cases get approved fast.

You will get a card the size of a credit card with a picture and a fingerprint :) Like Kez said, it's not really green. Enjoy! :)

Congratulations!!

That's funny because we only had biometrics. No interview at all.

I'll take anything at this point. It gives us two years to wait until we have any more serious work to do for USCIS.

LOL, what's so hard to understand about that? It's basically welcoming you as a new LPR and telling you that you should have your GC within 60 days. I'm not trying to be snarky or rude - just wondering why you couldn't understand it. :hehe:

I was going to reply in the same manner but I realized that the OP probably doesn't frequent this forum as often as some of us and probably was not aware that many applicants have been approved without an interview. If I was under the impression that one must have an interview before being approved for a GC, then I think I'd also be puzzled by this email if I hadn't been to an interview already.

Congrats OP.
