EAD Miracle?

I sent all the papers for AOS last week. I just checked the status on the case numbers and it shows the EAD card was produced yesterday. I was thinking it took at least 6 months.

I think you might have set a record….. you didn’t submit an expedite did you? Normally EAD takes 8-12 months, mine is still pending after 8 months (thankfully got my GC).

I only sent it overnight with the post office. I did not make any special requests or pay extra money

I sent regular. They sent 3 case numbers for the AOS, EAD, AP. Checked them a few minutes ago and it showed "Card was Produced. April 6. Case received March 30.

When did you mail in your forms? And to which office? Chicago or Phoenix?

Geez the Chicago field office is crazy fast. Mine is in Phoenix! Which I hear is the slow one. Congrats to you! I hope it’s true!!

I'm chuckling...what comes to mind are the IKEA commercials where the lady starts running and shouting "START THE CAR!" because she can't believe her savings

Is an EAD needed is you already have the green card?

Note that the Chicago and Phoenix addresses are not field offices.  They are just USCIS lockboxes, ie. receiving centers.  They do not process EADs.  The lockbox staff send the I-765 packages to the National Benefits Center (NBC), which handles EAD processing nationwide.  OP was just super lucky.
