We filed form I751 and fingerprints were taken. Form I797 notice of Action was sent to us extending her CGC for 18 months. Her case status on USCIS has been updated to As of June 28, 2021, fingerprints relating to your Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence, Receipt Number MSC........., have been applied to your case. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

We have had mail stolen from our house before and I am afraid they might have sent us a letter for a visa interview and we didn't know about it. It just crossed my mind yesterday. If they had already scheduled a visa interview, would it have updated when checking the receipt number of form 797 notice of action. As of yet, that's what it has been updated to for a while.

My case status has been updated to fingerprints taken. I haven't received any update yet and her extension for form I751 has expired 4 months ago. I just have a few questions. Is the case status on the USCIS accurate? Could they have sent me a visa interview request my mail and I missed it? I am starting to get really anxious. Is all of normal or standard?

visa interview

FYI this is not a visa interview. A visa is a document allowing a foreign person to visit the country with a certain purpose. Your wife has a green card.

With regards to your question, most cases do update online with "ready to be scheduled for an interview" or "interview scheduled" and then the notice follows suit in the mail. However, I have seen cases where the notice just shows up in the mail, or even the green card itself, with no status update. Your best bet would be to call USCIS and check on your case status yourself with an agent, and also sign up for informed delivery with USPS, so you know what mail to expect.
