If my GC is approved (AOS) but I do not have it in hand, can I still fly international and come back with my existing L1 or Combo card?

Hi everybody, I am due to fly international for a week, this coming Friday. My greencard (AOS) was just approved and I will not have my GC in hand before I travel. As my GC has now been approved, can I still enter back into the US next week on my L1 or my EAD/AP combo card, or are they in theory now voided because my GC was approved?

Yes

I just spoke to Emma and requested an infopass appointment for a 551 stamp. I explained why I wanted this and was told that:

"We will not be able to get you an ADIT stamp. You have to wait for you PR card unfortunately. The reason why you do not qualify is because you just became a resident and cardis processing for production. Now if you lost your card or need to renew it while that application is pending , you then can can temporary evidences WHILE the application is processing. Unfortunately you will need your PRC to return to the U.S."

So it looks like they will not allow me back in the country?

The thread I pointed you had described a situation where someone with AP and approved I-485 traveled with AP.

My husband's experience was different. Back then they gave him the stamp because he was approved but no card on mail yet. That was when you could make your own appointment on USCIS website
