OP should also be aware AP in Montreal can be very long.

Here is a spreadsheet of AP/DS5535 cases in Canada

Even late medicals have a long waiting time after interview.

I suggest you start looking for a more permanent location to live if you're currently staying at a hotel.

I would not expect an approval but you're looking at a month or two before they reach a decision.

My huge concern is how long will it take for them to process it and finally give me an answer to approve me? -  it's looking like you are not going to hear something within 2 weeks as you initially anticipated. Probably will take them more time than that.

And I don't think it's going to be an approved decision.

On top of that, I'm feeling homesick cause I miss my family, my dog, my girlfriend, friends, etc. :( - Time to start talking to your gf about marriage so you can start preparing for your alternative in getting back to the US

I'm not sure why anyone with this history would even attempt to do this DIY......SMH.

I don't see how this is, at all,  relevant to your case.  You are outside the US.

You are not an immediate relative.  You are a family preference.  Overstays are not forgiven.

In addition, once a person exits the US, overstays can trigger bans for immediate relatives, too.

This x 100.

Minor requests after the interview are rarely solved before 6-8 weeks in Montreal.  Notwithstanding other possible issues, you still have some time to wait.  You might request your passport back (you will have to return it later when/if the visa is approved).

I think the passport reference was to enter the US

random note, but don't folks on daca have the option to apply for AP they can use to re-enter? could be the case here.

DACA recipients can apply for AP.   It is not without risk.  A denied immigration visa would likely affect the ability to use AP to enter the US.

Must admit I have zero knowledge of Canadian Id requirements

DACA AP needs a reason and nothing to suggest this was applied for

With an existing 10 year ban?  AP won't overcome a bar to entry, will it?

AP would work if OP was just visiting Canada and comes back.

The BIG QUESTION is how is AP affected if the person is denied a visa.   Something that is rare and we may not find the answer for.  Does a visa denial affect AP?  I would think so.  My guess.
