I guess I'll just have a conversation with myself.

We received the Interview Letter (IL) today. A simple email instead of the PDF attachment NVC used to send (Packet 4).

Anyway, it'll do

Casablanca medical appointments are so backed up: physicians are told by the Consulate that it is ok to tell applicants that it is ok to attend the interview before the medical.

Available appointments (as of today 18-Apr-2022) are from late May to mid-June.

The backup is due to priority being given to the DV lottery winners (more than 500 cases to be processed in May)

The case reached the Consulate Generale in Casablanca and ceac status portal shows Ready.

It is exciting to finally be at the last sprint: bring it home babe

Here we are a week (or so) before the interview.

We got lucky as we were able to secure an appointment for our medical just before the interview. Thanks so much to a cancelation and the call back from the doctor's office.

All is well. My trip to Morocco is scheduled for the weekend to be with her for the interview and hopefully come back home together.

I'll keep this thread updated as we progress.

So, at the interview, everything went well but the CO asked for a copy of the petitioner's previous marriage certificate, a document that is not listed anywhere as required.

The visa was refused, pending receipt of that document (and translation). Status on the CEAC website still shows Ready. The date of the last update was updated to reflect the date they received the requested documents.

From another member's recent case, it takes about 4 to 5 weeks to process. We are on the third week so far and are waiting for updates.

Hoping it will not take longer than that

According to this (NVC website), it could take up to 60 days (This picture is specific to Casablanca, Morocco😞https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Supplements/Supplements_by_Post/CSB-Casablanca.html

Good morning all,

It has been a month now (30 days) since the Consulate Generale received the requested documents after the interview.

They still have my wife's passport.

We haven't heard anything nor did we get any updates. The last time the case was updated was 23-May-2022 (the day they received the requested documents).

So far, no news is good news, but the waiting game is really hard at this point.

I sent several emails to ivcasablanca@state.gov asking for any updates but did not receive any replies.

At this point, I am guessing they sent the documents to NVC and they are waiting for review (just a guess since it is silent)

I sent an email to the listed ustraveldocs email and got a reply the very next day (yesterday) stating that the case is still under the review of the interviewing Consular Officer and that we will be contacted shortly regarding the case.

It has been 52 days since they received the requested documents after the interview.

A month after the reply from the consulate in Casablanca, I sent another inquiry email (from a different email address) asking about a status update. I got almost an immediate reply stating the case will be escalated for final resolution.

At 3:17 am eastern time (8:17 am Casablanca time), I received another email stating the case is still under review by the interviewing Consular Officer and that we will be contacted shortly regarding the case.

Same exact answer we received a month ago.

It has been almost three months now since they received the requested documents. Still the same status in ceac: Ready (The status never changed from before the interview).

Ok, after several congressional inquiries and hundreds of unanswered emails, the US consulate in Casablanca called my wife over the phone and asked her to return for a second interview next week.

They asked if visited her after the initial interview, she said yes. They asked if I was still there, she said no, he is back in the US. They asked her to bring any pictures we took together to the 2nd interview next week.

They kept her passport since the initial interview in May 2022.

We hope this journey ends with a happy ending, and we get reunited soon.
