According to the guidelines for the consulate in Paris in the French Portal, French marriage certificates and birth certificates must be LESS than 3 months old. This is a common rule in France. My wife has had to navigate it for other functions, and it's a bit of a pain in the butt.

Current processing time for NVC is 3 months.

So are we going to get a checklist for a birth certificate that is less than 3 months old by the time the NVC reviews the case?

It's impossible for us to get a birth certificate and have them review it in less than 3 months b/c they are taking 3 months!

Morocco is the same

birth certificates and criminal reports expire in 90 days

this was not an issue i faced with NVC or at interview

u just have to take the original to interview

USA doesn't seem to think birth and marriage certificates expire even when marked as such

our case was a year at NVC and one form expired in 90 days but we never were asked to submit a new one
