Do I need a Police Record and a Court Record for my civil documents when applying for my green card?

Hi All,

I have been married to my US husband since 2012, and we have 1 daughter. I am Australian. We both lived in Beijing from 2010 to 2019.

I am in the process of getting all my civil documents reviewed by the NVC. I need to know whether I am required to submit a Court Record from China, in addition to my Police Record, which I already have but for some reason keeps getting rejected.

If I do need the Court Record from Beijing. How do I obtain one? I am no longer living there (I am now in Peru).

Could someone please provide some clarity? Thank you in advance.

What is the actual NVC review note about the rejection of your Chinese police record?  Is the document you submitted a notarial certificate (Gong Zheng Shu) that follows the format specified on this page -- https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Visa-Reciprocity-and-Civil-Documents-by-Country/China.html

Note, this is the only acceptable document.  No need for a court record if you have no criminal record.
