We received our NOA2 on 4/7. I talked to NVC and some bad news, good news.  Bad news it can taking up to 60 days for receipt of case from the service center, the good news is if your Foreign embassy is accepting the applications they are going immediately to the consulate there for processing and interview

Hi I know it’s been a while since you posted it. But does this mean USCIS is sending our applications straight to our consulates instead of sending it to NVC?

I just got my NOA1 approved and I am concerned that it’s gonna take forever from here..

Sorry, what I meant is from what I understand the NVC will not send the application to the consulate until they are ready to accept it and schedule an interview.  They will hold it at the NVC until the consulate is ready to accept

Do they automatically send it at 60 days regardless? Mine got sent at 55 days. But they won't tell me how far their backlogs are at the consulate. I hope I won't have to wait too long for an interview. I miss my fiance

I don't know that answer, I only know when the NVC was still taking phone calls, the agent told me that we were fortunate, the Buenos Aires consulate was accepting applications for immediate processing so ours were be sent immediately, the next week it went.  It is so unfortunate that the NVC quit taking calls as they were the only source of communication, during the entire process.

No automatic sending after 60 days.  As mentioned above, NVC will only send when the consulate is ready to accept.  In my home country, for example, there is huge backlog of K1 cases.  There were many cases with I-129F approved in late 2019 and early 2020, but were transferred to the consulate only this year.  Almost 2 year wait from NOA2 to interview.

Thank you!!

I hope the consulates and the NVC communicate well since we can’t even call NVC to inquire about our cases nor the process  now:(

Does it only apply for consulates without the self-scheduling option? I mean if you are able to schedule your appointment will they still only send it when the consulate thinks they are ready to accept?

Thank you! No interview date yet. They want to review our paperwork first, then they will let us make an appointment. I hope their backlogs aren't too long. I wish there was a way to check that but there only is for nonimmigrant visas that exclude fiance visas.

Hey I just wanted to check. I didn't think that the Auckland consulate required you to send stuff in for the k1? I thought everything was bought in together after completing the ds160 and then scheduling the interview.

They might have changed it during the pandemic. I had to gather everything then send it in. This was in accordance to the packet three email they sent me. No interview date yet. I thought it was as you thought too. I have been communicating with them, so potentially they only do some cases that way? Unsure.

Only K1 cases already transferred or in transit to the consulate would be eligible for self-scheduling.  Many consulates' online schedulers disable the appointment booking feature or will not accept bookings for case numbers not already in their systems.

Auckland is one of the few consulates that require K1 visa applicants to send in required documents prior to their interview.

I was able to pay the fee and schedule our appointment for February at the Warsaw consulate, though I haven't received our NVC case number yet.
