My NOA1 says our case was assigned to the Nebraska service center, I filed around 7 months ago. But I found out today that it's actually been at the Vermont since they received our case by contacting live agent via chat.

Does anyone have the same situation as having wrong service center on the NOA1? Its' so unfair that they provide wrong information, I've been planning everything according to the Nerbraska processing time.

Looks like Vermont is processing cases earlier than Nebraska.  Your I-130 PD is September 6, 2021.  Vermont will likely approve your case a few months sooner than Nebraska.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

u will find u can't plan anything around processing times as they ride up and down like a roller coaster

i think we all find it hard to let an agency be in control of our future and plans but it is and we all must wait out the process and respond to request

good luck to u

It was likely not wrong at the time the NOA1 was printed.  It means Nebraska was the service center where your petition was first assigned, then it was later transferred to Vermont.  As mentioned above, USCIS can transfer the petition anytime and any number of times without notifying you.  Not very useful to make plans based on USCIS estimated processing time at this point.

Thanks for your reply. That makes sense.

Thank for you this info! I've been only looking the USCIS processing time. Is this based on VisaJourney database? That would be awesome if it gets approved sooner!

Thank you. Yes I guess we can't really rely on the processing time.

Yes, this is based on input from other VJ members.  I remember that it was pretty accurate for us back in 2016.

Here is a thread on cases moved to Vermont.

A lot of us were getting approval around the 250-260 day mark but some have been approved sooner.

Pretty common for cases to be transferred across centers without any notice. Ours was moved too from Texas to Vermont. You should follow the Vermont processing times now.

understand that u send the petition  out to a lockbox location and they send to USCIS office and u get a NOA1

the office gets hundreds perhaps a thousand in a mailing and if overloaded with petitions , they can immediately redirect some petitions without seeing the names and entering info so no new notice sent out

all we need is the NOA1(which u do need to keep for future reference)

we do not actually need to know what office has it as NOA1 says "do not contact them unless we get a RFE"  and even then ,  it is not face to face contact =its only paperwork

and we can't count on case timelines of the offices and visa type  as they fluctuate sometimes radically

looking at timelines of offices or other petition request will drive u crazy

but reading post from members going thru your embassy and embassy reviews can be helpful

And VJ community answers all queries and no question is silly / most of us start the process with no prior immigration experience but trust me,  u start to learn fast

some of us follow the charts and stats put out by USCIS

some follow white house and Homeland Security announcements

some read and follow court cases

some read the entire monthly bulletin

so whatever u need to know is out there (except for the question "how long")/ there's no rhyme of reason to the processing times and interview schedule
