CR1 Visa with no US Address?

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to find out if it's possible to submit a CR1 application for my soon to be wife even though we have no US address?

Everything I read seems to say that we need a US address for the application to receive letters, however we currently live abroad and have no relatives or friends in the US with a US address.

Any thoughts / ideas would be really appreciated.

Many Thanks!

Many people file the I130 for an eventual CR1/IR1 spousal visa when both spouses are residing overseas, so yes it is possible.  Between the filing of the I130 and the actual visa interview, you (I am assuming you are the USC) will need to show an intent to re-establish domicile in the US for you and your immigrating spouse.

Visa Received : 2014-04-04 (K1 - see timeline for details)

US Entry : 2014-09-12

I-130 lets you specific a country in your physical and mailing addresses so yes you can file I-130 with a non USA address.

We applied for our IR1 and gave our Korean address as the mailing address.

We received our NOA1 with no issue and I'm fairly certain our NOA2 is en route.

While you wait for your I-130 to be approved the USC should start establishing US domicile as that is needed for NVC and consulate interview stage.

ETA: I would file online because you'll receive all your notifications through the USCIS website and won't have to wait for the physical mail from USCIS.
