Hi guys,

AoS interview coming up in a few weeks as a couple at the local field office.

What are some tips/advice that I should remember? I know this forum has a wealth of information so if someone wants to link me to an old post like this that can be helpful, please do.

What type of visa are you adjusting from? Were you out of status when you filed?

Never out of status. Adjusting from B2, married to USC

Review the questions they could  ask. Bring additional proof of bonafide marriage.

If you fill out your timeline I could link you to reviews of AOS interviews out of the office you would interview at.

But you can click on this link and choose an office to see what the situation is...

Hi! one question regarding your reply,.

I'm also adjusting from B-2 Visa.

My entry (visitor) was expiring on march '21.

We filed in February '21, but for a mistake we did on one number we got the package back on April '21. (They took so long to realize we wrote the wrong number on the paying with CC form).

We immediately sent the package back on April 7th (of course by then my entry expired).

Our interview is coming up next month April '22 (one year exactly after filing). Is there a chance they are going to be asking about this? Do you know if it is going to be like a big issue?

Our Journey:

Feb 18th, 2021: Package sent, including: I-130 + I-130A, I-485 + I944 + I-693 + I-864, I-765) and I-131 through USPS

Feb 24th, 2021: USCIS received the package

Apr 5th, 2021: Package rejected, received back (Payment issue)

Apr 6th, 2021: Resent Package through USPS

Apr 7th, 2021: USCIS received the package @ Chicago Lockbox

May 21st, 2021: Checks cashed

May 23rd, 2021: Received the Text Messages with receipt number

July 2nd, 2021: I-693 Deficiency Notice Received

July 8th, 2021: Expedite Request Received

July 16th, 2021: Received Fingerprint Appointment Letter

August 6th, 2021: Fingerprints Taken

August 9th, 2021: Changed of Address request AR-11online (Beneficiary) and filed I-865 Address Change of my husband (Sponsor)

August 13th, 2021: Confirmation mail: Case is Ready to Be Scheduled for An Interview

November 17th, 2021: EAD Delivered

March 15th, 2022: Interview Scheduled

April 21th, 2022: Interview / New Card Being Produced

April 22th, 2022: Case Was Approved

No two cases are the same.......just be honest during the interview.

How was yours?

Mine was a non event quick and simple

From memory the majority of the conversation had nothing to do with the Immigration situation. Went off in a different direction.

My impression was that it was a formality.

In my case they went through the application and asked a few additional questions about some of the evidence. I did not know some answers but I could explain why and I received the approval notice as I walked out of the building. At the end it felt like my case was already approved prior to the interview and it was just a formality.
