Hello...Welcome!

For those who have just filed your I-129f application with USCIS, this thread has been created for your needs and for you to be with others experiencing different aspects of this journey. This is a place to ask questions and to share experiences. All are here to learn together.

Stay patient because this is a long process currently running 10-13 months for your NOA2 or petition approval by USCIS (first stage). Then your petition will be sent to NVC (second stage) and finally your interview at the embassy (third stage).  Also, do not compare yourself to others....Some will receive NOA-2 faster than others, some will be stuck at NVC for longer and then finally some will receive interviews fairly quickly at embassy. STAY PATIENT!

Please create the timeline in your profile. Also note that USCIS goes by "Received date" :

Example

I-129 F Sent -  March 31, 2022

I-129 F Received - April 1, 2022 (NOA-1)

I-129 F - Notice Date - April 4, 2022

In this example your NOA-1 should be April 1. This will help you fill out your timeline properly.

So I was just scanning some cases and decided to try April 2022 just for fun. I noticed the case right after mine, which is also an I-129F was approved. Same receipt date group as mine. Literally the one right after mine. I didn't see an expedite request or anything, but I am guess thats what it was, although I see another one in my receipt date group with an expedite request filed. Not sure how much luck is involved in that but just found it very interesting. lol so close yet so far!

Yes, all Ukrainian filers are currently eligible for expedites, regardless of when the petition was filed. While this will extend processing times inevitably, it also means that some groups from April 2021 - April 2022 are being 'thinned' out so-to speak; Ukraine typically has a lot of K1 filers so it will be interesting what happens after their expedites finish. Good luck to you! :)

Hello all! Very excited to join this community.

I-129F Sent: April 18th 2022

I-129F Received: N/A

They cashed my check on April 22nd but still no NOA1 nor email yet…I wonder if this is normal.

Welcome!

Did you include the electronic consent form in your Packet? If yes, and you wrote a cell phone number, they should text that number when the NOA1 is sent out from California. If you didn't include a cell, then they won't email; you'll just wait for the NOA1 to come in the mail. USCIS doesn't send any emails, communication will come via postal mail solely. And even if you did include a cell, it is very much normal for the check to be cashed before the NOA1 is generated. But don't worry; your NOA1 date is when it was received, not when they send it out.

Good luck!

Oh wow thanks so much for the details!

I did share the form but just assumed they would email as I don’t have a US number right now. I just used my international number for the sake of it. I should’ve just put my family’s number instead then…

In any case, it’s good to hear that they will date NOA1 to when they received it. I will keep an eye out for the letter then.

Thanks again!!

No problem! Yeah, an international number is unlikely to get a text. To be honest I don't think they email you once throughout the whole process; even once you get to NVC (the stage before your packet's shipped to the embassy), your beneficiary - not you! - gets emails. Funny I guess :)

Best of luck!

I got my NOA1 in the mail today! :)

It’s dated before my check was cashed.
