Without knowing your wife’s immigration history, it’s hard to say, maybe you were issued the 10 year card by mistake. It happens sometimes when USCIS issues a 10 year card instead of the 2 year card.

Her I551 stamp from 2018 when she got the visa says CR1 but her permanent residency card says IR1 and expires 2028. That's why I am confused. Her extension has expired by 4 months. Can I ask you something? Would you know if her case status on USCIS is accurate? I hope we didn't get a visa interview my mail and it was lost. I am starting to get anxious...Thanks

Please clarify:

1. Does your wife have a current I-751 extension letter? In the first post you said she had a valid extension but I just read now u think it’s expired 4 months?

2. if her GC was issued for 10 years and expires 2028 ..then yes it was a mistake by USC, based on the I 551 CR stamp from 2018

3. Were you able to pay the I-131 A?

1. Upon doing some research today, her extension is most likely expired by 4 months. I still haven't received a update on her case other than the fingerprints we took last year. As far as I know, I haven't received any mail from USIC since then but sometime our mail gets lost

2. I was always skeptical about her expiration date and I thought it was normal until I looked up what IR1 means. I was shocked to read she didn't have any conditions. That didn't make since to me since I remember her paperwork from the embassy said she had to file to remove conditions when it expired.

3. I still wasn't able to pay it. I had no success contacting the embassy so I will try USCIS today.

Well this is a curve ball.  It explains why her A number is rejected at her 1-131A online payment attempt.

Her timeline is not known.

What was the date she and you married each other?

What was the date she entered the USA on her CR-1?

btw had you completed a timeline we’d have made faster progress with her case.  ditto if  had disclosed she held a 10 year green card while waiting for I-751.

Are you in the US or with your wife in Jordan. You just need to look at the DATE of the Receipt she is carrying with her. If she is not with you, then have her text it to .

IF HER  I-751 extension is expired , then that is most likely the reason you are having trouble w I-131 A.

I am the US. The receipt on the date is 6/17/2020. On her GC, it says she was a resident since 6/27/18. Her stamp was issued 6/26/2018. At this point I have no idea what to do. I would think that the system would accept her A number since her GC hasn't technically expired

Were you married:

1. after 6/26/2016 OR

2. on 6/26/2016 OR

3. before 6/26/2016

We married 3/3/2016. Why do you think it's conflicting with 1-131A? What do you think the system thinks about her PR card?

I am sorry but all of this is confusing me now. I am seriously even more lost than I was before. The date of her receipt is 6/17/2020. Her GC says she is a resident since 6/27/18. Upon doing the math, I calculated it's expired beyond 4 months but I haven't received a update on the her form

At this point the missing detail is when you two married each other. Everything hinges on that.

3/3/2016 is when we married. What does that mean?

Married 3/3/2016

She entered the USA on 6/27/2018

This is more than two years after 3/3/2016.

She was correctly issued a 10 year green card.

She should not have filed I-751.

So the good news that her status as an LPR has not expired.  The bad news is that by filing I-751, USCIS or at least part of USCIS now thinks her status has expired.

She needs an emergency appointment at the US embassy of Jordan and that’s all there is to it.

Wow I don't understand why the embassy said it was conditional. I guess they made that mistake and gave me the impression of it. Did I just invalidate her visa? Can this be fixed? Can I contact the USCIS and they can take care of it?

you really threw a wrench into things by unnecessarily filing for I-751…. Wasted fee and now it’s complicating the situation.

Agreed. Contacting USCIS would be a waste of time

You need to be contacting the embassy in Amman, not USCIS. Nothing is invalidated. She was correctly issued her 10 year green card. There’s nothing to fix except your wife losing her green card
