Thank you for returning w update!
1. Did you get the Refusal Letter?
2. If so send a copy as” Supplemental Filing to I-601  case #xxxx”

3. Did the more knowledgeable officer take your copy of the I-601 and payment receipt?
4. Is Medical Examiner going to give u a copy of the I-693 ( as he ultimately sent to emabsy)?

Yes

No original 601 acceptable

On #2 I meant just shoot a copy of the Refusal Memo to USCIS filing address ( or online if possible) for original I-601 . But your call.

The 601 has the case number so USCIS can look it up

Correct..no issue about submitting one week to US prior to interview

@Jer50 we have interview in April 2023.  If I am understanding your thread correctly, the best time to submit the I-601 is now?  And present the proof at the medical examiner?  Then it would be up to the interviewer to approve or deny the exemption?  Thanks in advance.

Depends on the process you are in

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

That would come up at the Consulate interview, so if refused and a waiver is available you will be offered the opportunity of filing one

This is a question that must be answered during the medical examination and documented on the form by the examiner. It is your option on when to file the I-601. We did prior to the embassy interview. Know this...it may be up to a 2 year wait before USCIS will provide a decision. We are still waiting. You may consider a lawyer.

Are you living abroad with your spouse?  That is a long wait.

Well...contacted US Senator to help find the status. We were provided a new recept number but once again USCIS never informed us by postal mail or email. When we check the USCIS WEBSITE with this new number we found out our Religious Waiver was approved on Jan 12 2023 but again we were not informed by postal mail or email. A big problem with USCIS process.
