more like a lot of BS

Now that I know what USCIS is like, I imagine any action taken on your file to literally be "we moved it from the left of the coffee mug to the right". I am curious as to where they keep our files. Does anybody have a picture of inside a USCIS office?

For me its unfair that the people doing ROC that got their 2 year visa with the state department have to wait years to get their ROC resolved but the people that did AOS through overstaying a tourist visa & married on American soil get rewarded a faster ROC when their time is up to do so.   I understand that K1 applicants also do AOS then eventually ROC so I am not slandering anyone that came into this country that route.

Interesting. Is there any referable data that confirms this?

That's not accurate, depending on how quick your field office is you can get an interview early on and be done with ROC much sooner than someone who won't have an interview and have their case sitting in one of the service centers for a long time. It's all about how fast your field office will schedule an interview.

Those who came on a CR-1 visa will have an interview for ROC since they didn't have one for AOS, those who AOSed had an interview and can get away with not having one for ROC (ie those cases are not depending on the speed of their local field offices). It's just common sense really, you will have an interview with USCIS at one point in the process.

Quick question: what exactly happens after biometrics? I mean, do they start looking at the case?
If we do have an interview, does it go from the processing center to the field office immediately after they determine we need an interview? So in that case, I should go by the processing times of the field office rather than the processing center?

the case should be looked at as soon as it reaches an officer and is imput into the system / that is what triggers the appointment for biometrics

i would like to think imput into the system triggers all the info needed from government on the case like a criminal report,   FRC A-file if needed,  etc

but maybe that is just me hoping for too much

I'm all about having this interview waived too, but I am afraid that if they don't send it to the local FO, it's just going to sit at Nebraska collecting dust. Whereas instead, if they send it to my local FO (Columbus) it should not take that long to get the interview scheduled.
