Does USCIS normally call you over the phone? I was given a 'decision couldnt be made' paper slip in my n400 interview about a month ago. My online USCIS account still doesn't show any updates but I received a phone call claiming to be from USCIS and said I've an Oath ceremony in about a month. I still don't see anything in the USCIS online account so I'm left wondering if the call was legit. They just said my applic was approved and shared with me the location/time for oath ceremony.

Is this a normal thing for USCIS to call up about oath scheduling?

Cheers

I have not heard of this in relation to the oath ceremony, but it may be legit.  Did they tell you where and when for the oath?  I believe you will still need the oath ceremony NOA to actually attend the oath, so hopefully that will come soon.

Yes, they gave me a location/date/time. Its still over a month till that date so hopefully I'll receive something but I was just curious if this is a normal thing as my online account still doesn't show any updates.

Yes, it happens. Not the most common thing, but sometimes when they have a computer/system issue it's easier to just make a simple phone call. It also happens that people receive interview dates with short notice via phone calls.

Thanks for confirming. I'm still refreshing the my account page often but I guess there's a couple day delay involved. I saw another person in nyc who received a phone call like this so I guess it is indeed rare but not impossible.
