My fridge has been staying in the danger zone more then the safe temperature zone. The tech wants me to pay now for Samsung defective fridge. Ya not happening. Time to tell Samsung to pay up, I'm pass  30 days  with a fridge not working per of the Magnusson Moss act they owe me a full refund.

After living in Korea for ... a couple of years... I have first hand knowledge the majority of appliances here are VERY NOT GOOD and need replacing frequently.

I feel Samsung is the worst offender (here in Korea) because they sell the same item abroad for a lot less and jack up their prices for the Korean market (there were some protests a few ... days/months/years... back).

Our Korean freezer (Daewoo) is awful because it completely shuts down during the summer. So, we dealt with a lot of spoilt produce last year. We bought the freezer so we could store all our Costco purchases only to realize ...

The locals think we're nuts, but we took the garbage disposal out.  Apparently it's a very American thing.  Never had one in Canada and hubs moved all over the place as an expat kid and never encountered one until he moved here.

Also, what is a garbage disposal?... I've never seen one. Maybe the husband has one in his family home but no one ever uses it...

It's a "food shredder" that is in installed into the drain of the kitchen sink. It's loud and makes a grinding noise but it's convenient because instead of dumping food waste into the trash, you can just wash it down into the sink and then turn off the garbage disposal. Just be careful about anything non-food falling into it as it'll get mangled in there. Also, don't put anything overly hard like peach pits, etc. I can see why some people don't want to use them as you can throw the wrong thing in there and it might break. I use it because I live in a condo. If I had a house, I would just compost my food waste.

I don't know why but Samsung appliances made me suspicious from day one. All the overly shiny tech and fancy features made me think it was a big marketing ploy, when at the end of the day all you need is a stable, functioning fridge or washer. Seems like my suspicions may have been correct.

In Canada, many places have composting services as part of the regular waste/recycle pickups.  Even the condos have a place to go dump the compost bin.

I pay for this service in my area in TX.  After being in Canada, my kids have real issues with just chucking compostable items in the regular trash.  It also keeps everyone more aware of of food waste.  Awareness seems to breed less waste, at least in this house.  I can ask the company for compost whenever I want.  I'd compost at home, but I have nowhere to do it and I already have enough challenges with trash pandas and other pests.

This thread started too late for us.  We had already bought a Samsung washing machine.  Recently, this shiny new washer stopped in the middle of a spin cycle and spit out an error code on the small digital display.  Husband looked it up online and found out it meant: "Load is unbalanced."  We're like, "Whaaaaat?!  Does the laundry need therapy?!" 😲

We have that issue with our Samsung!

Solution is not doing a load of towels and washing the bedding at the laundromat (why even have a washing machine?)

It is still working though. It is second hand and at least 12 years old.

It's not too late. Did you by chance get an extended warranty? If so go through them after 3 fixes and yes it will continue to break after each fix.  Under the lemon law they have to refund you.

If no warranty you have to deal with Samsung. Find the face book page SAMSUNG REFRIDGERATOR RECALL USA NOW. Make sure it's the group with over 100k members and all caps for the name. There's a copy cat group that do nothing but cause headaches. The group has step by step how to get your money. It can take time but its been working for many many ppl. I'm working on  mine still, hopefully one day I can post that I got my money back.

STill without a properly working refrigerator. Samsung tech's are actually blaming me for not being able to set up a repair date. Meanwhile I have called them, texted them and left voicemails for them to call me back. I used the same number to text them that they themselves texted me to schedule it.

It really makes a noise when a spoon is put in it, and does no good for avocado pits.  :)  It was funny, my wife also had no concept of a garbage disposal when she came over, but has adopted to it very quickly.

Well another repair tech. Well actually it was the same guy. He tried to ask me if we had mice so he can blame it on mice but I shot that idea down quick. Then he tried to say it wasn't cooling because the coils got dusty. Another lie of course.

Then he checks the drawer that he fixed the last time. It actually didn't go back in for him like I was complaining about. So of course he takes out the basket of the drawer and puts it in wrong. Then closes the drawer telling me that the drawer wasn't in right. Umm well here is the thing. The drawer has these little notches in it to make sure you put it in right. Well he shoved it in and it didn't sit right after that because the notches do not line up right. Good thing I have the entire thing on video.

Same in Australia.. 3 bins… recycle, compost, landfill. Im still shaking my head after reading an ad for a well known brand of garbage disposal the was selling itself as a “recycle” process. I guess i need to revisit my understanding of “recycling” 😬
