When they delivered it, they freaked out about us having a septic, yanked the water lines off without shutting off the valve and cracked it which spilled water all over the floor. Then they refused to install anything and left. They left us with hoses that were too short and did not even test to see if the unit worked. Went back to the store and spoke to a person in the appliance department to complain. They told us they had no idea about appliances because this was not their normal department to work in and the appliance guy was out sick. We went and found longer hoses, fixed the pipe, and installed the whole thing ourselves. It's working great so far.

Wow that is crazy too. I know WP from the SS group I'm in has good customer service and they supposedly do take care of their customers. Sadly the ppl who deliver can be anyone and they tend to not know anything either. 

 

When we first moved here I wanted a brand new washer and dryer. I always had used old ones that needed to be fixed or replaces yearly. So I spent an arm and a leg for a Maytag. Luckily (knocks on wood) It only now has had to few repairs and my son was able to fix it. They are 14 yrs old and I hope I don't have to replace them. i'm scared what is out there now. 

 

 

I did get an Email from Costco GE is sending out a new fridge should be here on the 28. Don't know what I will do if this one isn't working or damaged again. I'm told GE is really good to their customers and I sure hope I never need to call them after this.

So many of these outfits have contractors (not their own employees) who deliver and install appliances.  Everybody then disclaims responsibility when you get hosed.

Update on the home appliances front: so turns out my dryer drum has a crack in it. And this is a brand new GE dryer that we bought last year in October. Dryer kept making a "duh DUM...duh DUM..duh DUM" noise every time it rotated (even if you turned it by hand), called a repair guy. He told me to check for stuck zippers or something innocuous like that, we did that, nothing. Then he finally came out and after careful inspection, turns out there's about a 1" crack behind one of the wings (bump things that stick out from the drum.) You can see it perfectly fine with the naked eye, but only if you know to look for it.

 

Repair guy suggested I call the appliance store I bought it from. I called them and due to holidays, it was a bit slow but they contacted GE on my behalf and turns out GE is doing a concession on the warranty. Should be sending out a guy here to repair it tomorrow. So frustrating, clearly the crack was there for ages but it just got worse with time until it started making such a loud rhythmic banging noise, you knew something was off.

 

Just wanted to post here in case anyone ever has this issue. Always check for cracks in the drum. It's rare but happens! Just unusual for it to happen to a newly new machine. 🙄

Glad GE is doing something about it. 

 

Well I'm still without a properly working fridge. From the first delivery of that GE fridge back in August. I've returned 5, 2 where damaged and never really got off the truck, 3 could not keep temperatures. I called Costco and just got a refund. The price of that darn fridge it needed to have a perfect temperature non of this yoyoing up to 42 degrees when it is set at 36. I don't know what I'm going to do right now I'm using my old old fridge, but it has issues too. I did buy another freezer and so far so good there. So if this old one goes I can toss everything in there. I keep thermometers in it with alarms to my phone so we won't lose all that food if it does.

I was talking to my sister and she normally buys new appliances and then gets the additional repair warranty (5 years I think?) that's offered by the appliance store. Annoying to have to spend more up front, but maybe worth it?

It probably can be in some instances, but the store might refer us to independent contractors whose abilities and reliability can vary greatly.

 I got the extra warranty, problem is if something is not working right out of the box. I should not have to start fixing it.

Right, that is frustrating. My GE fridge (side by side) is doing well so far...so good. The LED light in the freezer dimmed out and it started flickering even after they replaced it, they're coming Friday to assess. I complained so they waived the fee since the warranty was over. I feel dumb for not getting the extended warranty now. Good on Coscto to give you a refund.

Yes, that was my concern. GE kept spamming me to buy the extended warranty but it was via a 3rd party service. I'm just hoping now that GE has added a concession on my warranty that these will be the last issues for a while.

All of Samsung appliances are bad, dryers catching fire, microwaves catching fire, stoves turning on by themselves, refrigerators not keeping safe temps, causing flooding in homes, and you guess it catching fire. Just be aware Bespoke is Samsung too. They have money to burn so they pay ppl off all the time. They are making a killing because they sell so many all around the world. They are cheaper then many other brands and look so pretty. 

Just in the FB group there have been over 1 million in refunds I think in 2 years. Those who took them to court have a non disclosure so we don't have that number added in there.

Update: dryer drum has been replaced and everything seems to be working again. I'm glad at least GE honored the expired warranty and repaired it for no cost. Seems less greedy than some other brands.

That is awesome. That was one reason I wanted a GE they do try do make their customers happy. I think the Covid ####### with supplies has something to do with why the GE fridges I got were not working right.
