Option 1.  I've read that I would need to fill out an i-130 for each of them.

Option 2.  I've also read that my wife could fill out an i-824 for both of them once she receives her green card.

1. The most effective and YOU and your wife can decide and agree on best timing to bring children in. Assuming you get USCIS approval in ONE year and case goes to NVC. Once at NVC you receive a notice and INVOICES for the AOS/IV : avail yourself of the full ONE year from date of invoice before you make contact by email : simply request additional time to pursue the process . THERE is no limit to the number of requests..

2. NO I-864 for your wife after she adjusts , you will waste the filing fee. ONCE she adjusts as IR , there are NO DERIVATIVES in that category and I-824 will be denied

3. You email Consulate and just tell them wife’s wants kids to Follow to Join , they were not listed on DS-160 and you are request instructions on proceeding.
You email NVC and say the same thing .
**I-129F only requires you list children , and even though you indicated on DS-160 they are not following to join…you can still exercise that option WITHIN one year ***

4. Once your wife is LPR she can file 1-130 ..with or without your blessings, so to speak.
