Hi,

On March 17th our I-130 petition status changed to "Interview Was Scheduled (we will mail you an interview notice)", however, 10 days later, not only have we not received anything, but when we log on to the My USCIS website, it does not show that any new notices have been generated under the documents tab.

Does anyone have a similar experience? Is this normal? Should we be worried?

We are in the UK, so it could yet be normal we haven't received the mail, but I would have thought the letter would be available online fairly quickly after the status change.

Thanks.

Hmm, weird, that would mean we went right from "Your case is being actively reviewed" to "interview scheduled", which would mean we skipped the whole NVC bit - how can that be? Perhaps that is normal as we asked for it to be dealt with in the London Embassy?

The whole thing is confusing to be honest.

So should we check with the London embassy as to what's the status? Or should we wait it out a bit more. I'm terrified we won't get a letter until we've missed the interview!

OH and Fill out a timeline.  Nobody has any idea what you’re filing for.
Your timelines help others, that is all that is expected to collect free advice from others’ experience.

Done. TBH, I thought this particular forum was just for the CR1 spouse visa via I-130. Also, this is the sequence on the USCIS website:

  • October 24 2020 - Petition Submitted, Receipt sent
  • February 17 2022 - Case Being Actively Reviewed
  • March 17 2022 - Interview Was Scheduled
Filed: IR-1/CR-1 Visa Country: Brazil

Hmm,  you were expecting a NOA2 notice now, stating they were sending it to NVC.   Sounds like either an error by USCIS, or they want to interview either you or your spouse?  Before sending it to the NVC.   Suggest calling UCSIS on Monday to try to get clarity.

Yeah you’re not supposed to be interviewing just yet.  Oops

Ok I will call tomorrow.

U say "we're in UK"

meaning you went DCF?

Right so. To be honest it was so long ago I can't quite remember the detail. We filed our I-130 online but I do remember some question relating to where it should be processed and we selected London. Does that constitute direct consular filing? And is that good or bad?

*** Moved from IR1/CR1 Process & Procedures to IR1/CR1 Progress Reports ***

If you filed online, then your process is not DCF.

yes, having done some further research, we do not qualify for exceptional circumstances so DCF was not an option for us. Unfortunately the London field office was closed permanently 6 months before we opted to apply.

if you have not received a notice form NVC and the London case # and paid the AOS and iv fee for I 864 and ds 260, the case has not been sent to embassy

making this another bogus letter being sent out by inexperienced officers

Yeah caught my snap on that, thought they were through NVC step

Someone clicked the wrong key.  That’s the message you get when they finish processing your N400 and are ready to eyeball you in person
