Hi everyone,

I had an immigration visa interview in Montreal office in Dec 2021, but my daughter’s passport was expired and we could not attend. We requested a reschedule which was approved. But it’s been about three months and we haven’t heard back. Could anyone please share their experience? What’s the timeline for immigration visa reschedule in Montreal? This is an urgent need and we have a job offer that needs us to be in US ASAP. Please help if you have an idea. Thank you.

From what I have read, it can take many months to be rescheduled unfortunately and as such, lawyers are recommending that their clients try their very best to attend the interview. To give you some context, individuals with approved employment-based petitions have been waiting for an interview since Jan 2020 (26 months).

Thanks so much for the response. Our lawyer said not having a passport is an issue. So we didn’t attend. Our understanding was it is a matter of a month or so. Our case is being processed in Montreal Canada. Is the timeline you are mentioning for reschedule visa for immigration Visa? And for cases in Montreal office? Thanks again.

We were in the same situation. Had a date in December, could not attend as we were evacuated for flooding.

I emailed the consulate in March and they gave me a generic response that we are "in the queue" but they couldn't say when.

I just checked on the AIS website and was able to reschedule my appointment manually for mid-June. If you haven't gotten a new interview letter yet I would check there to manually reschedule.
