No.  Your Nigerian Passport is all you'll need to visit your country of citizenship.  When you come back to the US, you'll need your Nigerian Passport....PLUS....your green card.

Exactly what I told them but they never listened to me but argue.
Thanks so much sir …am grateful!

I called the Nigerian embassy to book a date for my wife and daughters interview, only for her to tell me that I need a visa too. I told her it’s impossible and what’s the importance of my passport and then she said, she’s just letting me know that things has changed in the system with the Nigerian government and I said no problem. That’s the reason I thought as to ask.
This extortion is getting too much and I pray God help them to desist from such evil way of life.

Nigeria has outsourced visa services to OIS. Link below.

Between the embassy page and the OIS page, you will get all the info you need to get the visa for wife and kid.

I don't call or deal with the embassy.

The visa appointment is booked on the OIS site. If you walk in, you get charged an extra $50 per person.

Even OIS will try to charge you all sorts of additional fees.

FYI I just checked the OIS site and they seem to have their equivalent of drop box with a fee of $105

Read the instructions, have all your documents, don't even use their computers or printer and you might escape without additional fees

I would say she thought u are a USC

as a Nigerian citizen u still have rights as a citizen of that country not under tourist visa for a USC

u should fill out a timeline as VJ members can check the requirements for types of visas , etc

u fill for your wife as LPR but u do not call the embassy and schedule appointments

after the case goes to NVC , and u pay the fees and do the AOS and ds 260  ,  NVC and the embassy schedule the visa interview for F1 and daughters

What has this ^^^ got to do with the OP wanting to confirm a Nigerian citizen with a valid passport is not required to obtain a visa to visit Nigeria? OP is applying for a Nigerian visitor’s visa for his non Nigerian wife and kid to enable them visit Nigeria.

OP wrote more than the portion you quoted above, here’s what he actually wrote:

”I called the Nigerian embassy to book a date for my wife and daughters interview, only for her to tell me that I need a visa too.”

The bolded part (including the title of the thread as a matter of fact) puts in context what the OP’s confusion is about, and not what you assumed it to be. It’s good to want to help people, but we shouldn’t be assuming we know the answer to a question that was never asked in the first place.

He has more confusion than just this

He can not apply for tourist visa for her/  she has to

and if he applies for F1 for a wife,  he can not make the appointment for her interview

plus ,  this is Nigeria and  i should have said "chances of a visa ok in lagos is slim / just trying to help him as a new LPR  (reading his post posts and seeing he interviewed last janary and was in long AP for joint sponsror means he is pretty new here)

so, sorry ,,  try to help and get put down

I’ve noticed the tendency of some members to get hung up on the semantics of you can not apply for a visa for him or her, they need to apply on their own (or something similar to that effect) when it seems obvious (at least to me) the person asking is basically referring to filling out an application on behalf of the loved one who will be the applicant in immigration sense. So I’m not even going into that portion of your above post.

Again, OP has not stated anywhere on this thread (as far as I can see), anything about applying for a F1 visa, nor did they ask about the chances of a Nigerian visitor’s visa approval (from the Nigerian embassy or it’s designated body) for their spouse and kid in order for them to be able to visit Nigeria.

My intention is not to put you down, but to point out the obvious. The response you provided to the OP has no relevance to what the OP is asking about. You’re doing a fine job of helping people here, I’ve noticed and do admit that - and I applaud you and anyone else who is consistently spending their valuable time here to help complete strangers with their immigration related questions. I am however pointing out the fact that it doesn’t help when the wrong response is being provided on the basis of an assumption of what the person must be asking or intending to ask about (because we assume they are confused), and not what they actually asked about.
