Just wondered if anyone had an idea of current processing times for returning passports? I had my visa approved at interview on the 5th July and was told 3 to 5 working days however 6 days have now passed & I just spoke to SMS who said they haven't recieved it yet. We had all the correct paperwork & no questions so thought it would be fairly straightforward. Am I being to impatient?

Thanks for any feedback,

Sasha

My experience from early July = Interview Tuesday, Passport delivered on Friday.

I think it varies though, when my visa came, it was 'issued' on the Weds.

Perhaps there is a big pile and the person "issueing" hasnt came to yours yet?

Thanks, everything at the interview went very smoothly so guess I was just a bit suprised to have the extra wait. Wondering if a few staff are away on annual leave as around 4th July but wish they'd give best & worst case scenario which is what I thought the 3 to 5 days was.

I think it's a case of so near yet so far till I have that visa in my hand! Anyway thanks for the support!

It varies while most seem to come back in 2 or 3 days, some people have reported waiting much longer for their passport.

I am in a similar boat

I've been under Admin Review since 30 April 07. By the end of June, I recieved a very impersonal letter from the immigration visa branch stating that I should contact SMS to have my passport collected. There was no further information as to why the passport is required. Calling the bloody 090 number didnt help either; they gave me a reference number to email londonconsular and ask why passport is needed. No reply from them either.

Assuming that my passport was called for to issue the visa; I sent my passport on 3 july through SMS. Haven't heard from them since then. Any idea what might be goin on? could they require passport for any purpose other than visa issuance?

Regards

Hi, What stage did you get to in the application process before they asked for your passport? What visa are you applying for and have you already had the interview at the embassy?

Sasha

Generally, they wouldn't ask for your passport unless you'd already interviewed at the consulate, so we can assume at least that much about jigaruk.

It would be nice, though, to know what visa type they're working towards.

My visa is CR-1 spouse based. I was interviewed on April 30, 2007 and was told that I am being put under an admin review and that they will contact me later for my passport once Admin review is completed. When they asked for my passport, there was no indication what so ever whether my visa has been approved or not. Assuming that my visa has been approved, I sent the passport on July 3 and waiting in vain since then.

From what you say I'd imagine it's to process your visa. I guess if you allow a couple of days for it to get there & for them to open it etc... then you're probably on about the same sort of timescale as me...whatever that is?! I'll put a posting up as soon as I get my visa or any further news about it - hopefully within the next few days! Could you do the same as well?

Cheers & good luck!

Sasha

Just to let you all know I've recieved my passport with visa this morning. It took 11 working days.

I spoke to the courier people & they said the norm for this time of year is between 10 to 15 working days.

Good luck to you all...I fly out late afternoon as luckily had a flexible ticket (£469) with BA so have been rolling it over each day.

Cheers,

Sasha
