Hey there, here's a thread for us Mexico fiance visa applicants to mingle! ...if anyone else is out there and checking this forum, that is.

Anyone else waiting for an update from the NVC? My NVC case number was assigned March 7th. Seeing other people fly through this step and get interviews scheduled in the near future gave me a jolt of high hopes, but now I'm realizing that it seems this step takes a while when it's Mexico.

Thank you for starting this thread! I’m in the same boat. Our case has been stuck at the nvc. Are you apart of any of the Facebook groups? Another user in here said this is discussed there but I don’t have Facebook lol

@M+K Nah, I hate Facebook lol. Sometimes it is a curse to hate Facebook when there are useful communities on it such as this, though.

Still at NVC here too. I think on average it's taking about 2 months to move on from this phase; I got my assigned Immigrant Visa Case Number on March 7th and according to someone in the main NOA2>NVC thread, they update these cases on Tuesdays- so it seems like I will see a status change on the CEAC page on a Tuesday 4-6 weeks from now.

Of course, being aware of these averages and the fact it will probably only be possibly updated on a Tuesday does little to stop me from checking CEAC more than necessary anyway, lol. Always hoping maybe there'll be some kind of lucky coincidence and I get through early 😶

Hmm, we have very similar dates so ima go with that same time frame lol so we’re looking to be in transit around early to mid May?

@M+K Yup, so close and yet so far 😭 at least this is the last wait without concrete dates set. After this, it'll be getting the long awaited interview appointment set up, and we'll know how long we'll be waiting then :D.

I need to call the NVC again sometime and get my invoice number, too... When I first called I got my Immigrant Visa Case Number, but I didn't yet know to also ask for my "invoice number" so I guess I'll have to do that sooner or later.

We have been stuck at the NVC since the end of January. My fiancé does monitor the FB groups, and it appears that people who got their NOA2s in September and October are the ones now being sent to the embassy and getting interviews. I really hope it speeds up.

Hey guys, I'm on different facebook groups of k1 visa for mexico (that's all I really use facebook for haha) and from the info people post there I can tell you it really is taking ages here because for a while the embassy in CDMX didn't request any cases from NVC due to covid restrictions for interviews, so in the group they talk about a waiting time at NVC of at least 6 months. Last activity that was reported of changes from "at nvc" to "in transit" was march 15 and it seems that after you get the interview pretty quickly. But those changes were for people that received NOA2 in september or october. So we still have a few months of wait ahead, must be patient :)

Also, when your case reaches 60 days at nvc you and your fiancé will receive this automated email. image.thumb.png.893071483cb2ec0d2b5c59d3689d14a3.png

Hey there you two! Thanks for posting and sharing your knowledge!
ah, it seems I'll be waiting about 4 months longer than I thought then if that trend continues : ( On the other hand, if the interviews are still happening very quickly by then, it does seem like my interview timeframe estimate remains at about the same spot, so it's not the worst case scenario.

Yeah, it looks like after your status change to "ready" you have the interview about 3 weeks later. And I also saw a case with noa2 from november that changed to "in transit" on march 10th, so based on that I think you'll have your interview in September or something like that. Hopefully things speed up and we get it sooner, but I doubt it 🙈🙈 most people have received that email I showed you twice before they change to "in transit".

I'll try to post here what I see happening in the Facebook groups regarding this topic. And we might even have the interview on the same date or close!

New update!

Well, I guess it's not so much a "new" update... I already had my NVC case number by calling them in person early March. But getting new stuff in the mail gives me a jolt of adrenaline/renewed hope. I only hope that this email doesn't mean the suspension they're talking about happened, like, right now in such a way that's going to tack on a big question mark of time towards waiting through this process.

@cookies&cream how have things been sounding in the FB group?

Hi! I understand the adrenaline of receiving something information about your case, but sadly that's just an automatic email that everyone receives when the case has been at nvc for 60 days. We received too, in april and I've seen people who receive it more than once depending on how long the case stays at nvc

There haven't been any cases sent to the embassy lately, last time was on april 12 :( and they were cases with noa2 from September/october. So, I don't know, apparently the average time to stay at nvc currently is about 6 months. 😭😭😭
