For what would i need my certificate in the future. I already have my passport and all my require documents that i feel i might need for the rest of my life. Now im wondering what reasons would i have to ever use my NC.

Things I’ve encountered personally or vicariously.  Vicariously except as noted

1. Petitioning a family member to immigrate to the USA.  Personal experience here.

2. providing evidence for any child not born in the USA who acquires citizenship through you (too many cases to enumerate)

3. Applying for a federal security clearance

4. Replacing a lost USA passport, and you don’t want to spent a $150 file search fee.  Btw hopefully you got a passport card. Lose you passport, repel r your passport by mailing in your passport card. And vice versa.

5. registering to vote online in the state of Tennessee

6. Applying for REAL ID in California in the event your passport has a discrepancy with the DMV’s records.

7. Enlisting in the armed forces as naturalized citizens originating from certain countries are not eligible

8. certain other federal positions

Now there will possibly be people chiming in with counter examples to each of my claims. That’s wonderful.  There are anecdotes that say you won’t need your naturalization certificate again. And it doesn’t change the fact that naturalized people without naturalization certificates get road blocked or their relatives get road blocked.
