travel after i-751 approval

Hello All. My i-751 case status changed to new card is being produced. But I have not received any letter in the mail yet but I am supposed to travel tonight internationally. Will I have any issues travelling back to the states with just my expired green card and extension letter or are they automatically cancelled because my i-751 is now approved but I just don't have my green card yet?

I have the whole day to find out if I should travel or not so I would really appreciate your responses. Thank you so so much!

If the extension letter is still unexpired as of the day you return, I would use that for this travel.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

You'll be fine with extension + expired GC. Go travel

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.

Is your extension letter expired (ie. past the extension date)?  If not, the airline should still accept it for your return flight.

It is not expired yet. It is still valid until October 2022!

Then you can go ahead with your travel as long as you return before the letter expiration on Oct 2022.

Thank you. I got paranoid cause someone told me yesterday that the airline may deny me boarding if they see on their system that my i-751 is actually approved.

Airlines don't have that information.

Oh okay! Is there I should be worry or should know about when entering the US? I have global entry (if that matters). Will CBP give me a hard time with expired gc + extension letter if they see my i-751 is approved? Sorry to ask so many questions. Just want to make sure I touch all my bases

You won't have any problems entering with the extension letter.  You are a legal resident.  It might take you a few more minutes for them to check the letter.  I don't think you can use GE as usual this entry.
