He is paying a monthly penalty of $175 a month while waiting for his paperwork to arrive!

Clearly that is not true.  There is no way he could not have departed up until this point.

Not even sure how this is possible. Websites show it costs $70 a day when you overstay in Indonesia and after 60 days they arrest you and start deportation proceedings.

There is some information about applying for an extension via a business visa but once again. I do not know how it is possible to extend a stay with an expired passport.

Let me guess:  his plan for the B visa you're 100% sure he will get is to overstay in the US, just like he has in Indonesia?

OP mentioned in first post brother was considering applying for asylum once he arrived in the US so.... not sure what the plan is. Maybe better to just get a travel permit that allows him to go back to Morocco and they can have a family reunion there.

Best plan would be to petition him for an immigrant visa, as that is clearly the intent.

Because:

1) He has a demonstrated history of overstay in another country.

2) You have said he has no intention of returning to Morocco.

3) You seem to be laboring under the delusion that a 10 year B visa = a 10 year stay.

You are not making in sense and are trying to defend how of a troll you were.

1) He has a demonstrated history of overstay in another country. (If you read the thread you will see that he didn't demonstrate any history of staying anywhere on his own. I specifically mentioned that when he landed in Indonesia everything did shut down because of the coronavirus and that his passport expired while being on a lockdown; I also mentioned that he did receive a receipt of submitting his ID and Passport to the consulate of Morocco there and since then he's still waiting) You just want to assume that willingly wanted to stay in Indonesia which is FALSE. You diverted the question by making an assumption about people. That's called trolling

2) Yes I did say that he has no intentions to going back to Morocco (If you read you will also see that I said that because of the way he was treated) That doesn't mean he wants to stay in Indonesia or come to the U.S either. You are still assuming stuff just like I now would about you having a problem with people from Morocco. I know nothing about you except you baseless accusations.

3) I never said that a 10 year B-1B-2 Visa is a 10 year stay. You are still assuming things again and making false accusations.

I suggest that you give this some and see where it's headed before you continue with "I assume" "I think" etc. YES, please do report this thread to the Moderators and I hope that some of them will jump in here and write back!

Cheers Mate!

Sorry, I don't buy the idea that he has not been able to depart Indonesia due to the "lockdown."  As for the rest of your claims, the thread speaks for itself.

And name-calling is against the TOS.

Again, you are still assuming things. What i said was that you were trolling (based on your comments) and I did not call you a troll. I suggest that you do some soul searching to find out if you are here to help people or for some other reasons. Nighty!

@John79 this question would probably be better in the MENA forum as others can help you figure out how to expedite the passport application.

Your question is "How to bring a family member to the US from Bali, Indonesia".

The simple answer is: It will be very difficult if he

1.) Is not a resident in Indonesia and he is in Bali as a tourist.

2.) He does not have a valid passport/ his passport has expired.

Even though he has not willingly overstayed in Bali he does not have ties to any country. He does not have a job that ties him to any country.

And he has strong ties to the US. These are red flags and even if he was not in Bali as a tourist it is notoriously difficult for people to obtain B1/B2 visas especially when they are applying from a third country.
