What is the easiest way to determine if we received the three EIPs?

Hi there! Hubby and I are about to file our taxes. We are pretty sure we did receive the three EIPs, but are not 100% sure. I know I can check with my bank statements, but I have been looking for the deposits and only found one, which is weird. I have an IRS account, but when I access the Economic Impact Payment information, it lists the payments that everyone received. It does not state whether I received them or not, unless I am missing something? Can somebody walk me through?

The only documentation we received was a document sent to each of us from the IRS stating how much each of us received.  My IRS records (account of transcript) shows the amount in total we received...but doesn't specify each of us.

The IRS sent a letter

I signed to opt out so they didnt send anything, but they took the liberty of sending half to my wife, so she opted out.  There wasn’t much to track, and we didnt want to have to.

Thank you all! I received a letter only on my behalf. It is super weird, I am not sure we received the three EIPs but also I am not sure we did not. So I guess I am not going to claim it, just in case...

Payments have been distributed 3 times. You only need information for the third payment to put on your 2021 tax return to compute line 30.

Your IRS account should show only your payments. Example mine say

2020- $1200, 600

2021- $1400

And your recent letter should tell you what you got for tax year 2021.

Will have to log in again…..

  1. Start here https://www.irs.gov/payments/your-online-account

  3. New page, I used blue box “Sign in with an existing username”
  4. Go through all the stuff to log in
  5. First page that comes up has security info and every time I have logged in. Click “Continue” at bottom.
  6. Next  page say Welcome [my name]

Look on the right half of the page for—

Great. So having a positive number under each year means that you have been paid that money, right? What would it look like if they did not send you the money?

Yes.  My CPA filed a few weeks ago.  About 7 or 8 days later, out transcripts were available.  I had to look through all my bank statements to find the EIP deposits.  It took me 3 tries to find all of them....LOL.

My logic tells me it would say $0.

For example on the left side about the child payment stuff, mine says $0 because we got none.

All you need for completing your taxes is the amount for 2021, but you need the amount for each member of your family.

My wife and I both received separate letters from the IRS, and when I did my taxes last weekend the software somehow knew we had received all the payments somehow when I got to that page. Thought I would have to enter something manually, but it knew we had received them. I had the letters also, but it showed you have received 2800 in stimulus payments for both of us ( Filing MFJ), so no need to claim any missed payments.
