Hello guys

I had my k1 visa interview on 11th March 2022, and everything went well. My visa was approved and received a green slip with a congratulation on it.

I've been waiting for the visa since 11th March upto now(18th March) and haven't received any email from the embassy or from dhl courrier (Village market) that my passport is ready for pickup.

When I check their system, it just says "application received".

I came from Uganda and I'm staying in a hotel.

I would like to know how long does it take to get the passport with a visa after it has been approved  please anyone can help. Thank you so much.

My fiancé had her interview on the same date and we have a similar issue only that my fiancé was issued a 221g to get her original birth certificate from Uganda I guess from Nira sent thru DHL and the passport and up to now w haven’t heard anything yet. The embassy is really slow

Yesterday my status changed from application received to AP. It changed after I had called the embassy. When you check at ceac what does it say?

When did she submitted the birth certificate, and is she still in kenya?

And it still says Refused on CEAC

I used one of them, the one that ends with 799,

I also emailed them on

U.S. Visa Information Service (ESSA Yatri) essa_contactus@visaops.net

If possible, you can email them and at least they get to know that your fiance is still in kenya and waiting for the visa. I also did that and they replied me as below

Oh okay Thank you.. yes we do tho it’s so expensive for us. and I didn’t know that email I used this one immigrationvisanairobi@state.gov is it the same department?

The one I sent you is the one that is used to reach the consular section regarding visa issues.

When I called the embassy I requested her to help me on how I can reach the consular section, and she gave me that email.

It will help you because whenever they receive the email, they touch on your case.

Thank you so much for that information I just sent it like right now. How long do they take to reply back?

After two days,

Is she staying in hotel around Gigiri? At first I stayed there, but when I saw that it was expensive, I decided to shift to the one's in Ruaka. They're not so expensive, security is good, and has clean rooms, bathrooms and toilet. The food around here is also cheap, I buy mine in Quick supermarket.

If the hotel she's in is expensive, you can let her get a better inexpensive hotel because we all don't know when we shall receive the visa. As you said, the embassy is slow
