USCIS doesn’t handle rescheduling well.

1. Sometimes  the interview is held as originally scheduled. You are a no show and your case is denied.  So always attend the interview if you physically can.

2. Sometimes the reschedule is acknowledged and the interview is properly canceled.  It can take days to over a year to reschedule it.

I am not sure what to do in that case. My attorney won't listen to me if I told her not to reschedule

And if I don't have the copy of the interview letter either because I don't have access to that mailbox anymore. How do I get that?

The process is you call USCIS, ask for a tier 2 officer to call you.  That usually takes longer the duration  between the call and when your interview takes place.

Sometimes the interview letter is available to you on your myUSCIS account.  Personally I think these accounts are useless, but some people have better experiences.

Some people in your situation end up re-filing I-751.   Your thread suggests that the request to change the interview was successfully acknowledged.

I suggest filing for divorce and when you have a divorce decree, if you don’t have an interview scheduled yet, consider re-filing I-751.

The divorce is in progress. My husband filed for it in december and never told me. He served me with the papers last week. I have responded to it. We are not contesting. But my attorney doesn't want to include that waiver for now. She said when  the decree is available we can send it then. What can I do

The request to reschedule was assigned to an officer. So I guess they gotta reschedule it when its been assigned to them?

OMG gf

that is way too much to pay an attorney for this process

get your divorce papers and file the divorce waiver yourself

Cant waste my money and also its too late now. My interview was scheduled that the attorney requested to cancel or reschedule and let them know that we are preparing my extreme cruelty file cuz I have letters from my counselors

An officer has been assigned to my reschedule request.

Did your attorney file the I-751?

I filed i751 jointly with husband. She is send an amendment only

I am sorry for your what has happened to you.  I apologize that my government’s immigration service agency is so inept.

It is wrong for your husband to not share the I-751 interview letter with you.

A skilled divorce attorney might have induced your husband hand the letter over.

Except for hindsight being 20/20, I don’t know what you could have done differently.

It’s not your attorney’s case.   It’s yours.   Own the process.

Already paid 6000 and have to pay 4500 more. Can't back out at this point.

Fire the attorney. $10500 for 1 paper application??? And he's still mostly gonna charge you more.

Fire him. Take you file. We here in VJ will guide you for free

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.
