Expedite Request -> Approved Case!

USCIS recieved my I-129F mid-July of last year. According to current USCIS case-processing times, it was on track to being reviewed some time between August-September.

I called USCIS to expedite processing of our application a couple weeks before the war started and our request was denied.

I called again to USCIS last week to re-request expedited processing. Today I checked the stauts of our case and saw not that expedited processing was approved, but our I-129F was APPROVED.

Wow.

Next step is NVC, which is known to be slow as well. Can this step be expedited as well? Also, I would like to route our application to an embassy in Canada. Who should I contact to do this? NVC?

I-129fs are always expedited at NVC.  You should contact the consulate to request transfers/expedite.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Yup! Once NVC has the case number, Frankfurt (in OP's case) should be contacted for the expedite. I was told by NVC yesterday that they'll handle K1 expedite requests once the case has been processed through and given a number.

Wow that's great to know. Is this because of the Ukrainian war or always has been the case?

Always.

Can you provide documentation on this? I can't seem to find the information online.

What other application types does NVC treat with preference?

Do you know why the NVC treats K1's with preference?

For K-1s, NVC just assigns a DOS case number, the sends them to the consulate when the consulate has available slots open.  If the consulate agrees to expedite, then they (consulate) can immediately ask for the case.  But, if the consulates have availability, then K-1 cases move right through NVC.

In rare cases, NVC might return a case to USCIS if they notice something was missed at USCIS...but that doesn't happen often.
