A few questions about DS-160

Just helping my parents fill out their B2 visa application and had a few questions.

"Have you made specific travel plans?"

I've clicked no because there has not been a ticket bought yet. Would it help if she bought a ticket?

"Travel companions information"

We aren't sure if my dad will be able to join her due to work. Currently, the plan is that he will. But it's possible that he will have to cancel last minute. Should I still put him down as a travel companion?

"Social media"

I remember making a FB account for her many, many years ago. She never used and still does not. I cannot remember the details of it. Should I still post this? My worry is that they ask her to log in and neither of us know the information.

"Contact/relative in the US"

That's me. I am currently a conditional green card holder through marriage. We did CR-1. We did the whole application in my maiden name. My GC was in my maiden name but I sent in the I-90 to change it to my married name. I haven't received the replacement card yet. I'm in month 14 of waiting. There's a 17.5 month wait time. By the time of my parent's interview (hopefully in a month or so),  my replacement card might already be here (wishful thinking). What should I do here?

Thank you!

Which Consulate is this presumably not London

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Not London but I don't think it's a 'problematic' embassy. Saying that as lots of B2 visas are issued per month and wait time for an appointment is 15 days. I'm really nervous about privacy since it is a small country.

No need to buy ticket. You can leave it as no or put estimated date. It doesn’t have to be accurate date.

For second question i would answer based on facts on the day she submits DS 160. So if current plans are that dad is coming, i would put yes. Remember she can always explain herself or correct DS 160 at the interview.

For third question i would put no to social media, since she never used and doesn’t know any login information.

For fourth question i think she can put either your maiden name or current last name. I would personally put maiden name, then if your GC is finished sooner, i would explain situation and correct it at interview, when asked about it. Maybe somebody else can answer this more accurately~

Never buy tickets in advance. Ustraveldocs site even tells you so. You don't need to present any tickets or hotel docs at the interview.

I would just put him down if that is the plan. They are aware that plans can change.

They don't ask people to login to social networks at the interview. It's merely for research/background purposes. If you don't use FB regularly and cannot remember, I would leave it blank.

Your new legal name is the married name, so just use that. Whether or not you have a physical GC is not relevant to the DS-160 or the tourist visa interview. Just state your status which is LPR.

Do you think that's the case even though everything with USCIS is still clearly under the maiden name? They have not processed my replacement GC to reflect my married name, my SSN is still under maiden name.

@Jorgedig why the confused reaction?

If it were me, I would put my current legal name if it has been updated with USCIS. Just because your current physical card still has the old name doesn't mean anything if USCIS knows you have a new name now. The SSN is totally irrelevant to the tourist visa process so I would not worry about that.

Thanks! I didn’t think it was relevant but just wanted to show how my official US docs are still in my maiden name. (Tried changing my name on SSN but they couldn’t do it until GC is updated). Thanks again.
