Weird Problem while Updating Form i-864

So, we were DQ'd back in October 2021 and are now awaiting the interview at Mumbai consulate. However, our financial circumstances have considerably changed since we submitted our documents to NVC and it's time to update Form i-864.

But there's a weird problem when we try to do this. In Part 5 - Sponsor's Household Size - Points number 1 and 8 come pre-populated with the number 1 and we cannot change them. We're getting the wrong household size and we don't know how to fix this. We did not face this issue when we last submitted the form. We tried downloading the form from different websites but it doesn't work. Any ideas what the matter could be?

Download the I-864 from the official USCIS website and fill it out using Adobe reader so that the auto-calculate feature for the household size will work properly.

#2 would be automatic as u are a person so 1

when imput info for the next questions ,  it should automatically add the numbers up / at least i hope this is the improvement as the last form had the bene 2 times (Under married and sponsoring ) and it was all so wrong

See bold above.  That is user error, not form error.  The form specifically states not to count anybody twice.  If you are sponsoring your spouse, you do put any number in spouse box because spouse is already counted as the intending immigrant.  Read and follow ALL the instructions.

As for the current form, "yourself" is always populated because it must be.  Fill the form in order and the 1 immigrant, plus the sponsor, will properly populated as a household of 2.

We filled the form exactly as you have mentioned, that is, not counting spouse twice. The problem is, the household size is already populated before we even begin to fill the form.

Yes thank you. We will do that.
