If you submitted a transcript … they want to see all W2s to match that transcript for that year, just to break down where you got all that money and from what coming and such.

For the year 2021 we submitted the return forms and not the transcript because it was delayed and we didn't want to delay the process (it was accepted). We also submitted all W2's from her employer. I read that 1099's are income you earn other than your employer and in this case I think my wife used to be paid by apps like doordash/stock apps and they provide 1099's. I'm hoping this is the case.

If those W2s were reported on her returns and it contributed to the income to go over the income requirements, then yes those 1099s would be needed. I know they could explain all this before you submit but they just don’t

Just saw a first submission March 10th and last submission March 26th get DQ'ed on facebook - feeling like if they counted from March 10th it should have been DQ'ed a couple of weeks ago!

Hi guys!

Starting a new thread for March NVC submissions. In this thread we can update on our NVC journey.

Hoping that we all get DQ'd in the first try.

I know we all wanna be DQd 1st try but with how a joke NVC is, it's a pipe dream. I feel like majority have to resubmit once or twice sometimes three times before DQ. It's like NVC rope pullers do this on purpose. I submitted a case last August. Waited three months (Nov) only to resubmit some info that wasn't even asked for in the first place. Waited again till Feb (3rd time again requested extra info) case at supervisor review till today. ☹️

NVC is definitely strange... Still haven't heard back from them and I submitted all forms on the 22nd of March! (excluding the I-864 I added in additional documents last week). Maybe the additional documents sent me back? Either way, the case was for my daughter who is attending the interview with me next month so maybe I shouldn't worry too much?

When did you last submit your required documents?

February. Late February.

I’m inclined to agree with you here… 7 months and counting for us, including with interventions from congressional rep and senator. The worst thing is they don’t ask for everything in the first go round, but instead keep making you wait for review and then ask for something totally new! It’s almost by design.

I totally agree with you. Same thing happened to me. They only asked for joint sponsor’s evidence of income first. I submitted. 3 months later they asked JS’s wife’s W2/1099s. It’s terrible.

It’s unreal seeing actual DQs from people… like something that is impossible to achieve!

That's what I said. This seems to be deliberate! Sad thing is, these NVC employees are human beings with family but they tend to ignore the fact that we also, have family members far away from us separated for years yet they do their best to keep us apart "just a lil bit tiny weenie" (read: months and months) before we see them.

..and start jobs.. and begin new chapters in our lives. It has also crossed my mind this is a deliberate tactic to give the appearance of moving faster through the backlog, and to prevent further backlogs at embassies. Who knows. All I know is, it’s torturous. Our attorney has never encountered this level of BS that has been occurring in 2022 in all of their career as a family-based immigration lawyer.

I'm sorry to hear what you are going through. It is quite unfortunate. However, my advise to everyone who submits their documents to NVC is to do a thorough research beforehand about the required documents and additional documents that maybe required pertaining to their case. I am aware that NVC does not inform in advance as to what exact documents are required. Some of their instructions seem outdated to be honest. Just to give you an example: As per NVC's requirement/instructions, they require either an IRS transcript OR W2/1099 but not both. HOWEVER, evidences here on VJ showed that some people got an RFE requesting W2/1099 when they submitted Tax transcripts only. I did my research and came to find out that in our case even though the taxes were filed ''Married filing separately', it would be a good idea to submit W2/1099 too just in case (So that we can avoid an RFE). And that decision helped. Though as per NVC it was not required but we still submitted it.

I wish you best of luck and pray that you get DQ'd asap!

We submitted our documents on March 15 and on May 31 we were notified that they needed better copies on the marriage certificate and Aiza's birth certificate.  These documents are issued on colored paper so the original scans were in color and at 300 x 300 dpi so that the file didn't exceed their stone age 2 MB size limit.  I resubmitted them as B & W scans at 600 X 600 on June 2.  I get the sense that our case will go to the bottom of the pile and it will be another 75 days before someone touches it again.  Is that what others are experiencing?  Was really hoping for a DQ.  Actually, a hot fudge sundae would be good right now. 😁

I am sorry to hear this....We experienced an RFE our first time around. Bosnia and Herzegovina requires two police certificates and we only had one so we had to replace what we had and waited another 75 days. I feel your pain...
