My I751 was pending for one year and a half, and about six month ago after my biometric appointment they changed the status “ your case is going to be scheduled for an interview “ , and I after consulting with an  Lawyer online I decided to apply for my n-400 since I was eligible ,thinking they probably going to schedule me for one combo interview . Doesn’t make any logic sense to me how they wold schedule after naturalization interview . My only fear is if they will deny my n400 that day only because  my I751 is still pending. . I will be so pissed of and they gonna have to see me in court with them for sure . I paid for my n400 , and submitted all the evidence they required .

if you pass the n400, they will not deny it...they will however not be able to approve and schedule you for oath until your i751 has been adjudicated. so they will just keep it pending until your 751 is done. if you get an n400 officer who are able to do combo interviews, then that would be better for you so you can hit two birds with one stone. else, since you have already been called for a separate 751 interview, then you may need to appear for that interview as well.

So Mike , if I don’t get the combo interview  what do you think will happen ?? It’s possible that day I will get my naturalization interview done and they will not approve it till I get my I751 interview 9 days later , and after I get them both done they will schedule me for the oath ? Is this scenario possible ?

yes.

I’m really confused , did anyone of you happened this ?? I heard they do combo interviews but not totally separate days.?????

Immigration can literally do anything they want. Yours is to dutifully attend your interviews and provide the information they want.

Good luck!

Just another random guy from the internet with an opinion, although usually backed by data!

I have my N400 Scheduled before my 1751 removal of conditions interview. My interview is scheduled to hold in Chicago... can anyone advice if I should be calling USCIS to make sure my 1751 is scheduled first? or does the Chicago office conduct combo interviews.

We had a combo interview for both the i751 and n400 at the same appointment on May 16th in Sacramento. You should expect that as well and bring your spouse as they will need to be there.

We got no notice that the i751 would happen at the same appointment for the n400 interview.

Be prepared to do both interviews together, bring any additional evidence and your spouse needed for each case.

There is nothing improper about having an N-400 interview before an I-751 interview.  Indeed that is apparently standard procedure at at least one field office (Seattle).

You might get a combo.  Your spouse should be available to be be invited into your N-400.

Calling USCIS to derail your N-400 strikes me as a really bad idea.
