Help! Found inadmissible at interview, need an I601 waiver (merged)

Hello, I went to my interview yesterday and was questioned about how I crossed the border. My fiancé made all the arrangements, and I don’t remember, but interviewer said I had planned my illegal entry with my ex. She said I needed a an I601 waiver for misrepresenting documents to an immigration officer. I’m very confused because the paper she gave me states two different things and looks like there is a 10 year wait. I had an approved I601A before going to the interview, which I thought would prevent me from getting the 10 year ban.

I601a does not apply to misrep. And would have only helped if the overstay was your issue.

Two different things.......You have a misrep 10 year or lifetime ban to waive now. I would find a good attorney.

Hello,

After waiting 2 years for an interview, the date finally came last week. We thought this nightmare was finally over, however, at the interview I was interrogated about how I crossed the border. I had not heard that happening to the many other people sharing their experience in multiple forums, so I guess it was my luck. I don’t even remember exactly how, I told the interviewer the little I remembered. I was 18 years old, didn’t speak English, and was given a few drinks before actually crossing. She said that misrepresentation was used on my behalf to an immigration officer and that I could submit a waiver. We had already submitted the 601A, which was approved almost two years ago. Now it looks like I have to do it all over again, except I can’t go home to my family. I have lost my job and feel so scared to lose my son and husband. Has anyone hired good expert legal help to send and get the waiver approved? I need recommendations please. Ideally someone who doesn’t take advantage of the situation and charges 4,000 dollars. I have called a few places and that seems to be the standard fee. I just don’t see how it can cost that much when my husband and I successfully sent the I601A and got it approved without any legal help.

I’m so sorry. The legal immigration process is awful. After waiting nearly a year to get an interview, my husband was refused and then it took another full year to get a 601 filed and approved. We worked with Kathleen Martinez from DIY Consular Processing 469-519-1030. They have a Facebook and a website www.martinezimmigration.net where you can read reviews. We talked to 8-10 attorneys before choosing her. It wasn’t cheap, but was certainly not the highest we were quoted. Kathleen is great and she offers payment plan options.

I’m sorry for misunderstanding. After seeing the post from Unlockable stating I was free to start my own thread, I figured it was the correct thing to do. I hope I’m understanding this correctly, and it is okay now to ask questions about my particular case on this thread.
