Oh congrats!!!!! :)

I suppose this whole business with the stupid TB skin test for K1s and K3s are always "up to the discretion" of the supervisors.

I hope my IO is as nice and friendly as yours was!

I think so too, the key is do an "overkill" preparation, not just by taking with us all the evidences they required but knowing how to rebut adverse/negative evidence that the AO might bring up in the course of his/her review of our cases, or the lack of one evidence or requirement.

I am SOOOOO surprised at this letter. And I guess she no longer needs my utility bills either! ~sigh~

Congrats Magnolia. I'm sure you feel quite relieved now.

I do not believe this TB Skin test is mandatory across the US. I believe only certain district offices are requesting this TB Skin test. If it actually was made mandatory across the entire USCIS, then all applicants whose cases were transferred to CSC would be receiving RFEs requesting a TB Skin test as well.

Again, very glad to hear you won't have to worry about a TB Skin test.

As i stated in my other thread, when I went for my AOS interview on July 11th, when the AO went through my medical file, she saw that I did not have a TB skin test done. Although she approved my visa, she said I needed the TB skin test now because it is a new requirement. She told me that by the end of this week, I would receive a letter from her which I can take with me to the CS, stating that i ONLY need a TB skin test and not a whole medical (I told her I was worried they,d try to rip me off).

I received her letter today and am utterly surprised!

On the letter, she attached a blue sticky note saying:

" Sandra, this letter serves as your "green card". I spoke to my supervisor whom at her discretion, is allowing you to receive your conditional green card.without the TB skin test. It was up for debate but later decided it was not necessary afterall. It was nice meeting you all!

best wishes,

Officer xxxxxxxx

Then on the letter it says the usual, Dear Applicant:

Please be advised that you have been granted conditional permanent resident alien status as of July 11, 2007. Blah, blah, blah, you guys know the rest! Then it says on the bottom that I should have my card within 2-3 weeks.

I am SOOOOO surprised at this letter. And I guess she no longer needs my utility bills either! ~sigh~

That is great news. You are a lucky woman. Congrats

Well, this is interesting!

It sounds to me like 'up for debate' means her supervisor may have informed her the skin test requirement doesn't apply to adjustees who have been examined by a consulate panel physician overseas.

Glad it worked out!

rebeccajo here's hoping this is the case with the overseas consulate panel physicians  Because i know my TB skin test will shows up as a False-Positive and from what i've been reading so far on the CDC website, the false-positive results have then to be then sent to a TB doctor with a chest XRay to be given the all-clear before the results are given back to us/me to be sent/given to USCIS .... if you know what i mean.

Yes, I know. i just wish they would clear this up and get it all figured out. I'd hate for someone else to go to their interview and then get an RFE for this stupid skin test.

Thanks!

Thank you! I consider myself lucky too because when I opened that letter, I was expecting it to be that letter for the CS to let him know to only do a skin test LOL.
